Fredr.Olsen Cruise Line has at all times maintained coordination with Canary Ports... has chosen to cancel this scale for caution and in order to ensure the safety of the passage and the ship, as the strong wind prevailing on the island

The wind storm that plagues the Canary Islands and will continue tomorrow, as predicted by the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet), has forced the shipping company Fredi.Olsen to cancel the scale that the Balmoral cruise planned to make in the Port of Gran Tarajal. Fredr.Olsen Cruise Line, who has always maintained coordination with Canary Ports, has chosen to cancel this scale for caution and for the purpose of ensuring the safety of the passage and of the ship, as the strong wind prevailing on the island and the forecast of the bad sea considerably complicate the docking in this port of the largest cruise ship of the shipping. The planned scale of the Balmoral has been the result of the efforts made by the public body Puertos Canarios to promote this main port as the destination of cruises. In this sense, the shipping company has assured that what has been cancelled is only this scale and that it continues to consider the Port of Gran Tarajal as a port suitable to host its cruises and therefore to include it as a regular scale on the route it makes in the Canary Islands.
