The French navigator Thomas Coville completed this Sunday at 16h57 GMT his return to the world in solo sailing in their trimaran "I must Ultim.", made in 49 days 3 hours 7 minutes and 38 seconds, exceeding the record of his compatriot Francis Joyon since 2008. The Breton left Brest (West) on 6 November, and went beyond the virtual finish line with eight days and 10 hours advance from the record established by Joyon. Coville achieved his goal in his fifth attempt, after two record-free world turns (2008 / 2009 and 2011), and two abandons (2007 / 2008 and 2014). The navigator will arrive on Monday to Brest, after spending his last night with his team on his boat, "a night of relaxation after seven exhausting weeks on the high seas". During his trip, Coville rarely slept more than 30 minutes in a row, constantly pending the conditions of the sea and the climate. Coville, leave the bar very high because it has broken the 50-day barrier. It has stayed 3 days and 11 hours from the record of the "Banque Populaire V" with crew and 40 meters long, 47 days, 10 hours, 59 minutes and 2 seconds; it achieved in 2012. In 1895 the Canadian Joshua Slocum, the first sailor to perform the solo gestures, employed three years to turn the world around. At that time Slocum became a world celebrity, until he lost his life on the high seas in 1909.
