The Supreme fails to name "Engineering" in the UP masters of Catalonia

Similar failure had already had the Supreme with the Universities of the Basque Country and La Coruña
The Supreme Court has considered the appeal against the names of the "University Master in Nautical Engineering and Maritime Transport" and "University Master in Marine Engineering", both from the University of Catalonia. This sentence is linked to a similar, also recent, judgment regarding the masters of the Universities of the Basque Country and La Coruña.
The Supreme states that: "The contested Masters of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia enable and / or are linked to the regulated professions of Chief of Machines of the Merchant Navy and Captain of the Merchant Navy, generating the substantive - Engineering - error or confusion about its professional effects by not giving access to any regulated profession of Engineer."
He also cites Royal Decree 1393 / 2007, which provides that "In any case, the public authorities shall ensure by (sic) that the name of the title is in accordance with its content and, where appropriate, with the specific implementing rules and does not lead to error on its level or academic effects or confusion on its content and, where appropriate, professional effects.. "In short, as the Chamber has repeatedly said, it is a question of avoiding denominations that may lead to confusion, academic or professional about their content and quality. The judgment refers to the application of the substantive" Engineering "to master's titles that happen to previous ones that had already been annulled and which, therefore, continue to lead to confusion with the degree of naval and ocean engineering, which does enable the exercise of the regulated profession of naval and ocean engineer.
