The Danish Malthe Ebdrup, of the Royal Danish Yacht Club, today proclaimed itself the champion of the 66 Ciutat Trophy of Palma in the Optimist class by overcoming in one point the Italian Massimiliano Antoniazi, of the Yacht Club Adriaco, and in six the European champion, the German Mewes Weduwild. The dean competition of the ballast sport brought together in the Real Club Nautico de Palma 440 regatists from 10 countries from last Thursday to today in an edition that the sports director of the organization, Manu Fraga, has no doubt to qualify as "one of the best in history." The last day of the Ciutat de Palma was held with a great condition that allowed to complete three sleeves in all categories. The wind blew with generosity from the NE from the first hour of the morning and was reeling to reach more than 20 knots of grabs that forced the crews to make their best efforts.

The optimist class podium, in which 300 ships were appointed, was not decided until the last sleeve. The regatists who had been fighting since the first day at the "Top Five" took turns in the leadership over the four days. In the end, the Danish Malthe Ebdrup, who was not on the list of favorites made before the start of the competition, managed to overcome its rivals thanks to a partial of 1-7-8. The world's subchampion, her compatriot Helena Wolff, was unable to complete her tour and had to settle for the fourth square. The best Spanish was Manuel Alvarez, from the Nautical Club of Puerto Sherry, which was ranked in the ninth position. To find a representative of the Balearic Islands you have to go down to the 18th place of Nacho Baltasar, regatist of the Níutic Sa Ràpita Club.

Two regatists from the host club, Marc Lladó and Toni Massanet, were proclaimed champions in class 420. His victory was so hollow that they could afford not to take the exit of the last race of the day. Both recognized having competed without pressure, as the Ciutat de Palma had not been proposed as a target. On Sunday and today Tuesday the conditions "suitable" for this crew were given, which offers the best of itself from the 15 knots. The silver in this category was for the Swiss couple formed by Nick Zelmer and Till Seger, while the bronze corresponded to two rising young values: Melsión Rosselló and Arturo Madero, of the RCNP.

Matías Rodrigo, of the Nautical Club of Ibiza, was awarded the triumph in the children's class Laser 4.7. with ten points of advantage over the second classified, Martina Magri, of the Club de Vela Port d'Andratx (AVC), and eleven on the third, Andreu Jaume, also of the club andritxol. The winner's partial (2, 1, 3, 1, 6, 2, 2) was the best of all participants in the Ciutat de Palma.

In Laser Radial, they finished the competition tied to 15 points Luis Cabot, of the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa (CMSAP), and Mario Plomer (AVC). The first noted the victory by its largest number of first in the seven races in this class. The bronze was for Andreu Juan (CMSAP), who got 16 points and fought for victory until the last board.

Christian Vidal and Luis Fernández, of the Club de Mar Mallorca, won in the Snipe class, whose fleet, which yesterday did not go out to sea, today had only four of the 12 units registered in the competition.

05 / 12 / 2016: Change of leader in Palma: the Swiss Grange Artaud orders in Optimist

The third day of the 66 Ciutat Trophy of Palma was again very demanding for the organization and the crews. The wind of the East, which reached an intensity of 11 knots, did not end up clearly and allowed only the dispute of a race for the Optimist, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 and 420 classes. The field for the second manga of the day had been mounted on an axis of 110º, but when the exit was to take place a sudden role at 80º. Given the time (almost four o'clock in the afternoon) and the low intensity of the wind, which had begun to feed two hours earlier, the Committee chose to cancel the test and send all participants back to the Royal Nautical Club of Palma (RCNP)

The only and complicated race of the day caused a small seism in the Optimist class, which remains dominated by the foreign fleet. The Swiss Grange Artaud, who was fifth today, was placed at the head of the 12-point classification, overturning Italian Massimiliano Antoniazzi, who fell to the fourth square after signing a tenth. The Mexican Sebastián Riquelme went up to the second position handcuffed by his second position in today's race, while Malthe Ebdrup, with a Danish flag, is in third place. As expected, the discard of the first result, which is applied in the Optimist from the fifth manga, allowed the Danish world's subchampion Helena Wolff to stand on the Top Five, having taken off from the black flag with which the past was disqualified and thanks to a room that leaves her with options to assault the podium on the final day tomorrow. Less luck had European champion Mewes Wieduwild, who today marked a 42 and left the medal posts. The best-ranked Spanish in Optimist is the Gaditano Manuel Alvarez, representing the Nautical Club of Puerto Sherry, which occupies the seventh square, while the first shooting in the general is Pau Mesquida Barceló, of the Nàutic S'Arenal Club (CNA).

Also in 420 the entry of the discard resulted in the change in the leadership. María Bover and Clara Labres (RCNP-CNA), current world subchampions, once again demonstrated their quality and their huge competition with little wind. They first crossed the line of arrival and, in the absence of yesterday's black flag, they stood in front of the general with two points of advantage over Marc Lladó and Antoni Massanet (RCNP), which are better developed with medium or strong winds, and nine with respect to the couple formed by Melsion Rosselló and Arturo Madero (RCNP), two young regatists who first break into the podium of an important test.

Laser 4.7's classification is still led by Matías Rodrigo, from the Ibiza Nautical Club, which today was first and a third is discarded. The Pitiussian regatist has everything in mind to award his first Ciutat Trophy of Palma, as he takes four points to his most direct rival, the representative of the Club de Vela Port d'Andratx (AVA) Andreu Jaume, and seven to the third, the also andritxola Martina Magri.

04 / 12 / 2016 The Italian Antoniazzi leader in Optimist

The Italian Massimiliano Antoniazzi, of the Yacht Club Adriaco (1-2-6-10), retains the leadership of the 66 Ciutat of Palma de Clágico Optimist, which he already achieved after the inaugural race on Saturday, with three points on the current champion of Europe, the German Mewes Wieduwild (2-15-4-1), and eight on the Mexican Sebastián Riquelme, who competed defending the grympola of the Nútic Club El Balis. The first Spanish, Manuel Álvarez, of the Nautical Club of Puerto Sherry (26-1-3-12), is tenth. The Danish Helena Wolff, the current world subchampion, who on the first day was disqualified with a black flag (off-line after several general calls), today began her particular dating back to a partial of 2-2-12 and, although for the moment it is located in square 62, could break into the headposts as soon as the discarte (from the fifth race) is applied and can be removed from the 101 points that it currently sums up in its locker. The race will resume tomorrow, Monday, beginning at 10.30 a.m., and will end next Tuesday at 3.30 p.m.

Marc Lladó and Toni Massanet, from the Real Club Nautico de Palma, lead class 420 after linking a partial of 3-2-1. The Majorcan couple sailed to a high level and took a 9-point approach to the second, the regatists of Club Nàutic S'Arenal Aina Colom and María Sampietro (5-3-7), and in 11 to the Swiss Nick Zellner and Till Seger (4-8-5). Luis Fernández, of the race team of Club de Mar Mallorca, was awarded the three tests of the day and placed in the head of the general, six points ahead of the crew formed by Teo Matheu and Pedro Cabrer (RCNP), who entered third in all the sleeves. Guillermo Cervantes and Arturo Barranco (4-5-4), also from the Nautico de Palma, occupy the third place in the provisional general. Two regatists of the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa dominate the general classification in Laser Radial. Andreu Juan leads the class with six points, with a partial of 1-2-3, followed by his teammate Luis Cabot (5-1-2), who is tied to 8 points with the athlete of the Club de Vela Port d'Andratx (CVPA) Mario Plomer. Matías Rodrigo ("Club Náutico de Ibiza") was the most regular of the Laser 4.7 fleet, with a six-point classification.

03 / 12 / 2016: The 66 Ciutat Trophy of Palma de Optimist with foreign domain began

The first day of the 66 Ciutat Trophy of Palma was saved by the hairs. The wind came in late and was rather radic, though enough to celebrate a race (3 exits) for the almost 300 regatists of the Optimist class. The Regatas Committee is patiently waiting for the gradient wind of the North to fall for the benefit of the Embat (SW), which at 2 p.m. began to set at 250º and an intensity of between 5 and 7 knots. In the absence of more races (it will take five sleeves like today for all athletes to have faced each other), the general classification has three leaders: Italian Massimiliano Antoniazzi, Swiss Neprov Maxim and Dutch Wijbinga Ties, winners in each of the contested tests.

German Mewes Wieduwild, the current European class champion, showed that he can be competitive in any condition and was placed second, next to Dutch Olivier Jaquet and Swiss Grange Arnaud. The podium is completed by the Italian Margerita Barro, the Dutch Jacobine Leemhuis and the German Ilgerein Caspar. Marçal Costa, from the Club de Vela Palamós, and Alex Tormo, from the Club Nàutic S'Arenal, in the group of the rooms, are the first Spanish.

The fleet of the 66 Ciutat Trophy of Palma, the dean competition of the Balear sport, created only two years after the opening of the RCNP, is formed 396 ships (440 athletes) from 10 nations. The prestige of the competition has been increased this year thanks to the level of the participants, including the Danish Helena Wolff, the current world subchampion of Optimist, who today plunged into the classification after being disqualified with black flag, and the already mentioned continental champion of, Mewes Wieduwild. The competition will resume tomorrow from 10: 30.
