03 / 12 / 2016: The essential in the sailing in the opening day... the wind
The 50 Nautical Week of Alicante has had a grey start as the wind has very much conditioned this first day in which it has not been possible to complete a single test, although the Optimist C, the smallest and the beginning if they have closed the day with two tests. After several hours of waiting on the ground, the race committee made the decision to build Delta for the Optimists, while Vela Ligera was waiting on the ground.

The Optimist B have tried to close a test up to two times but the low wind in Alicante has prevented it. The "aes" have also been blank and only the "cés" have completed sleeves (Photo Pep Portas)
The first to enter into action were the Optimist B, with departure at 15: 18 hours (almost 4 hours delay on the program) without incident. When the fleet was reaching beacon 1, some regatists had already taken that buoy, the wind said goodbye so the committee was forced to override the test. In second attempt and in the absence of a minute for the exit, the wind would say goodbye again, making it impossible to put a test in motion. The weather forecasts for the second day seem to be much better, although rain can make an act of presence at the end of the day.
