Vocational training and support for the promotion of water, among the topics of action of European Boating Industry

ANEN attended the meeting of the Executive Committee of European Boating Industry (EBI), in the framework of the nautical equipment fair, METSTRADE that took place last week in Amsterdam. The meeting, chaired by Stefano Pagani of the Italian association UCINA and Sandrine Devos, the new Secretary General of EBI, served to review the functions of the Executive Committee and set targets for 2017. The meeting addressed the issues on which EBI is currently working and which have been approved in the Council, including: the development and strengthening of industrial leadership; vocational training in recreational nautical; public policies to support nautical activities for European associations, including ANEN, in its work as lobby; support for the development of campaigns to promote nautical activities; safe access to the sea and the development of nautical activities outside Europe. In addition to these matters, it was agreed that the Executive Committee should serve as a source of exchange of statistics and information on key issues such as charter, campaigns to promote nautical activity or tax taxation, among others, in different countries. The next meetings of EBI (General Assembly and Council) will take place on 24 January 2017, during Boot Düsseldorf.
