Each edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is unique and unrepeatable. This year it celebrates its 72nd edition as the classic offshore, with a hundred spectacular ships online. Among them many of the most important reeds and crews all over the world, who will try to win... considered one of the most emblematic awards of the international ocean candle. The Rolex Sydney Hobart is organized by the Cruising Yacht Club in Australia and is supported by the Royal Yacht Club in Tasmania. The first edition was held in the distant year of 1945... and was held every year since its foundation. Rolex has been the main sponsor of the race since 2002. Along with the Rolex Fastnet Race, the Rolex Middle Sea Race, the Rolex China Sea Race and the RORC Caribbean 600, this iconic high-level sailing, is one of the most important offshore races. There are now 93 confirmed ships of which four are "100-foot maxis," new are ex- winners of the race... the oldest yacht of the fleet will be the "Sean Langman" built in 1935.
