The 2016 Spanish Maritime Cluster Awards were delivered at the Ritz Hotel

160 guests among partners, award-winners, authorities and sponsors were present at the ceremony to deliver the Spanish Maritime Cluster Awards 2016, held at the Madrid hotel Ritz
The ceremony for the award of the Spanish Maritime Cluster Awards was held in the rooms of the Ritz Hotel in the capital of Spain. After the traditional cooking offered by the Spanish Maritime Cluster (CME) to the attendees, the president of the CME, Alejandro Aznar, took the floor and thanked King Philip VI for the acceptance of the presidency of honor of the event. He also wanted to thank the Spanish Navy, a partner of the Cluster, for its work, especially in the working groups of the CME. Following the intervention of the president of the CME, Alfonso de Senillosa, Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the Government Presidency and Director of the Department of National Security, took the floor. He then did so, Andrés Sánchez de Apellániz, secretary of the jury, has read the act of the jury ruling, formed by Federico Esteve, president of honor of the Spanish Maritime Cluster; José de Lara, vice president of the Spanish Maritime Cluster; Andrés Sánchez de Apelániz, secretary of the Spanish Maritime Cluster; Alfredo de la Torre, director of commercial development of Ingeteam; Miguel Ángel Lamet, president of Comismar; Javier García, president of Atisae; and Luis Guerrero, general director of Bureau Veritas Spain and Portugal.

The Communication Award has been held in Transmediterranean, a company that is currently serving its centenary, recognizing the work of transmitting its role throughout its history, in the economic and cultural development of our country. The award has been sponsored by Comismar, and has been delivered by Begoña Cristeto, general secretary of industry and Miguel Ángel Lamet, president of Comismar. Mario Quero, general director of Trasmediterranea, has been responsible for the collection.

The Competitiveness Award has been for Astian and Astander, shipyards that have been outstanding in recent years for their work on repairs and conversion of ships on the offshore market, as well as for the implementation of projects to comply with the new environmental directives at global level. The award has been sponsored and delivered by Bureau Veritas to Germán Carlos Suarez, Executive Vice President of the Astian and Astang Group, Rafael Rodríguez Valero, General Director of the Merchant Navy, and Luis Guerrero, General Director of Bureau Veritas Spain and Portugal.

The Technology and Innovation Award has been for Baleària, as one of its main lines of action for continuous improvement and technological innovation. The award was sponsored by Ingeteam and delivered to Adolfo Utor, President of Baleària, by Alejandro Abellan, Director General of the EU Secretary of State, and Victor Mendiguen, founder of Ingeteam.

The International Projection Award has been awarded by Grupo Arbulu. The presence of more than 400 professionals in many countries, dedicated to naval electronics and satellite communications, to fishing vessels, traders and megayates, has been highlighted. The award was sponsored by Tüv Süd ATISAE. They have delivered, Alfonso de Senillosa, Deputy Director of the Government's Presidential Cabinet, and Javier García, President of ATISAE, to Iñaki Arbulu, General Director of the Arbulu Group.

The Training for Sport 21 Award has developed a business line based on Marine Training and Training Programs, focused on specific navigation environments and ports and real ships of the various shipping companies, with pioneers in Spain in the use of the latest simulation center technology. The award has been sponsored by Rotación magazine and delivered to Captain Carlos Cal, nautical adviser and coordinator of the Training Programs of Port 21, by José Llorca, president of State Ports, and José Manuel Galdón, CEO of the TPI Group.
