The RORC Transatlantic Race part of Lanzarote heading for the island of Granada

After the week of preparation in Arrecife, the 14 ships are heading for the Caribbean... almost three thousand nautical miles separate them from the line of arrival on the island of Grabada. In the image the "Maserati" one of the favorites to victory.
Marina Lanzarote as scheduled, at 12: 00 in the morning, the Royal Nautical Club of Arrecife gave the first exit to the third edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, in this case to the monocascos and ten minutes later, would be the impressive MOD70 Phaedo 3 and Maserati, with the canaries Oliver Herrera and Carlos Hernández, who crossed the line of exit, opposite the coast of Arrecife. The first point of reference would be the buoy de desmarque located in Puerto Calero. The route that was established yesterday in the pattern meeting is to cross the Bocaina and leave the Canary Islands to port, thus defining the first steps of the 2,995 nautical miles that separate Arrecife from the Caribbean island of Granada, where the finish line is established. As for the boat with the canarian representation, the MOD Maserati of Carlos Hernández and Oliver Herrera will seek to beat his great rival, Phaedo 3. The Phaedo trimaran has the record of the RRC Transatlantic Race, which is to reach 2995 nautical miles in 5 days, 22 hours, 46 minutes.
