The multinational exercises organized by the Turkish Navy have as their main objective the underwater war

The "Cantabria" Combat Arrangements vessel, currently deployed in the Mediterranean within NATO Permanent Naval Force No. 2 SNMG-2 (Standing NATO Maritime Group 2), has been participating since last November 19 in the "Mavi Balina 16" exercises. This is an advanced exercise organized by the Turkish Navy, in which the "Cantabria" has participated, some Turkish ships, naval units from the United States, Canada, Bulgaria, Romania and Pakistan. The first phase of the manoeuvre took place at the Aksaz Naval Base, and consisted of conferences and seminars on the exercise itself as well as maritime safety. The objective of this type of collaboration is to increase the training of the naval units involved in the different aircraft of the naval war, with a special impact on the underwater war. The participation of SNMG-2 in this exercise once again shows NATO's commitment to activities organized by the partner countries, in this particular case with Turkey.

On the ship "Cantabria" (A-15)

The "Cantabria" Combat Supply Ship came into service in July 2010. The ship was built in the Navantia Shipyard of Puerto Real and has nothing to envy other logistic ships of other warships as with its equipment and systems of last generation it can face with guarantee any mission for which it has been designed. These modern equipment and systems allow the geographical scope of action to be anywhere in the world. The main mission of the ship is to provide operational logistical support to a Naval Force or an Expeditionary Force, which may include a Disembarkation or Transport Force. The ship can also provide logistical support in non-war operations such as humanitarian aid and environmental defence. The geographical scope of action is anywhere in the world, with the exception of Arctic waters. The strength is 164, but also has accommodation for the airborne unit (UNAEMB) and another 20 more reserve. Of the staff 20 are officers and 29 non-officers. The rest belongs to the scale of troops and mariners.
