The Electoral Board of the Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo, in the minutes of the meeting held on November 15, is the proclamation of the Zamoran Juan José Román Mangas as the only candidate for the president of the RFEP for the next Olympic cycle Tokyo 2020. Juan José Román Manga was first elected president of the RFEP on March 28, 2009. The World Champion of Piragüismo in Aguas Quietilas in 1991, is one of the most prominent Spanish palists in the history of our sport, with three medals in World Championships and an Olympic diploma (4th in K-2 500) at the Olympic Games in Barcelona 92, as well as four Olympic participations behind their back as a sportsman (Los Angeles 84, Seoul 88, Barcelona 92 and Atlanta 96), a fifth as a technician, to which should be added, as President, London 2012 and Rio 2016, among other merits. The 53-year-old Zamoran was first in charge of the Federation of Castilla and León since 2004 and was imposed on the Galician candidate Santiago Sanmamed with a result of 55 votes in favour, against 45 of his rival who aspired for re-election.
