Confirmed Santander for the final of the Sailing World Cup (4-11 June 2017)

The Sailing World Cup Final was granted to Santander in 2017, as well as to Kiel (Germany) that of 2018. Santander hosted the last edition of the World Sailing Championships in 2014, in which more than a thousand regatists participated and whose competitions were witnessed by some 400,000 spectators.
The announcement of Santander and Kiel as the headquarters of the final of the Sailing World Cup is part of the new vision of the World Sailing, the international sailing federation, for the World Cup Series, recently published: "The Sailing World Cup Series will continue to display and develop the Olympic Sailing, will be a key part of the campaign of the Olympic regalists, will integrate the adapted sailing, will help to create heroes, will involve the sailing fans, will encourage the sponsors and television channels and will conclude with a final in which the winners of each event will be crowned." In the announcement, World Sailing President Carlo Croce explained: "Both Santander and Kiel offer excellent conditions for the practice of sailing and the opportunity to display the sport, with public following each event and through digital media."The Cantabrian capital will organize the 2017 edition of the Final Sailing World Cup from 4 to 11 June, culminating in a series shortened for this year, with events in Miami (United States) and Hyères (France).
The Sailing World Cup Series 2017
The American city of Miami will host the first meeting of the 2017 Sailing World Cup Series, from January 22 to 29, 2017. The French of Hyères will follow from April 23 to 30. The Sailing World Cup Final in Santander. The Olympic medalists of Rio 2016 are automatically classified for the 2017 Final Sailing World Cup. They will be joined by the winners of the Miami and Hyeres series dating. For the rest of the places, the classification for the final will be based on the combined results of the rating tests of the Sailing World Cup.
