Juan Díaz Cano, president of the Royal Spanish Naval League, visited last October the Director General of Marina Mercante, Rafael Rodríguez Valero, to give him the report of the Third National Maritime Congress held last May in Cartagena. On the occasion, the RLNE delivered a metopa of the League to be placed in the metopas room of the General Directorate of Merchant Marina. The meeting took place in a relaxed environment that allowed the exchange of views on various issues related to the Spanish maritime sector.

By unanimous agreement of the Board of Government of the RLNE, the Director General of the Merchant Navy, Rafael Rodríguez Valero has been decorated with the distinction of Knight of the Golden Anchor of the Naval League. This award responds to the work carried out by Rafael Rodríguez Valero in the position of Director General of the Merchant Navy and to his support and affection for our institution. The award of the decoration will take place on the 18th of November in the course of the sorority dinner of the Naval League that will take place in the rooms of the Hotel Meliá Avenida de América from 20.30 a.m.
