Rolls-Royce trusts the Hamilton Canary Islands to transport its azimutal propellants
The canarian consignee Hamilton and Cia. has been the company chosen by the British multinational Rolls-Royce for the logistics of the marine transport in the Canary Islands of azimutal propellants of several drilling ships and oil platforms belonging to the companies Ensco and Ocean Rig. Dozens of propellers are now in the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife pending their transfer to Gran Canaria. All the loading and unloading operation will be directed by Hamilton, who today has begun to develop the order made by Rolls-Royce with the ferry transfer of a propeller. The piece has already been downloaded in the workshops that the British company has in the area of Astican, in the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas. The complex transfer of tens of propellers from Gran Canaria to Tenerife will continue in the next few days. Ferries of ships operating in the Canary Islands and ships that are hired by Hamilton for this service will be used. The parts will be the subject of dry maintenance and repair work that will be executed by specialized Rolls-Royce staff.
Since its installation in the Canary Islands, Rolls-Royce has participated in two projects on the island of Tenerife. It has recently carried out the extraction of a total of 12 propellants from 2 drilling vessels. At present, there are 18 Rolls-Royce propellants in Tenerife, prepared for repairs in Gran Canaria or for medium-term storage. More than 70 propellant units are currently stored in the Canary Islands. This is expected to generate a lot of work for many local companies when drilling vessels and platforms are to be back on track.
