The ports of Ferrol and San Cibrao moved, in September, 1,007,616 tons, thus meeting the expectations of the Harbour Authority of Ferrol-San Cibrao to keep the pace of one million tons a month. This figure also reaches 9,066,388 tonnes of the total accumulated in the first three quarters of the year. Within the different chapters in which the goods are classified, according to their form of presentation, the positive evolution of the liquid bulk, with 1,716,218.09 tons in the total accumulated, has been highlighted, which has increased by 6.68% over the past year. It points to the increase in oil products (fuel oil and diesel), which already account for about 520,000 tonnes in the year.
As for solid bulk, they have experienced a monthly growth of 2.20% from 773,051.80 tons moved in September 2015 to the 790,035.1 tons recorded last month, which brings the total accumulated from year to 6.8 million tons. Among the goods that take off in this chapter are, above all, the splinter with an increase in the total accumulated of 34.70%, the magnesite with 14.01%, and the bauxit- which moves in the port of San Cibra- with 1.95%. The movement of general goods increased in September by 16.78% over the same period of 2015. The wind turbines again increased their percentage by 3.68% of the total accumulated, with a movement of 84,366.67 tons in the port of Ferrol until September. The total movement of the board with 13,577.04 tons is also outstanding, compared with 1,114.65 tons recorded in 2015.
In the section of goods moved by rail, it is worth noting the increase of 26.12% of the tons of wood moved through this land operation during the first nine months of 2016, with a total of 53,449.45 tons accounted for. In addition, 102 ships passed through the port facilities, raising the number to 781 scales in the year.
