Tras la anulación de la segunda manga por falta de viento "Okofen" se anotó una nueva victoria (Rosa Calvo)

After the cancellation of the second manga for lack of wind "Okofen" a new victory was recorded (Rosana Calvo)

Javier de la Gandara consolidated his leadership on Saturday at the Trophy Banco Sabadell Class J80, who fought his third day in Baiona Bay with very complicated conditions for navigation, taking the "Okofen" back to victory. Very intense hulls for moments and a too loose and very roll wind made the work of the race committee extremely difficult, which could, however, give way to two tests for the J80 fleet called by the Mount Real Club of Yates in its autumn league.

It was two barlovento sotavento tours in which the monotypes, with few exceptions, achieved very different results. In the first test, the "Virazto" of Miguel Lago was clearly imposed, which moved away from the rest of the ships from the initial minutes and was able to comfortably cross the arrival line in first position. In the second manga, however, the "Vidito" was less lucky and fell to the fifth place, just the opposite of Javier de la Gandara's "Okofen," who rose from the sixth and the first and reaffirmed himself as the leader of the competition.

With 11 points in the general ranking, the crew of De la Gandara moves away from their rivals... and the "Okofen" is placed a step away from taking the victory of the Trophy Bank Sabadell Class J80, which will be decided at the end of the month on the last day of tests. As for the rest of the figures, it is worth noting the performance of the "Namasté" of Luis de Mira, who entered the provisional podium after leaving the fourth place that he dragged from the beginning of the championship and up to the second, unlocking from that position the "Miudo," patroned by the port Tiago Roquette. To distinguish also on this third day the crew of the "Ferralemes" of Enrique Porto, one of the most regular, with two seconds placed on the two disputed tests; and the addition of a new ship to the fleet of J80 of Baiona, in "Cansino," by Fernándo Yáñez and Ignacio Sánchez Otaegui, which will compete from now on with the other monotypes. So things, with the "Okofen" of the Gandara in the head, the "Namasté" of Luis de Mira and the Miudo of Tiago Roquette in second and third position separated by just one point, and the rest of the fleet more grouped in the rest of the positions, the emotion is maintained for knowing who will finally take the Trophy Bank Sabadell Class J80 of Mount Real Club of Yates.

The exceptional geographer of the 1st century BC was very right.
The great Julius Caesar sent one of his trusted men, the geographer Estrabón to the ancient Hispania, to submit a detailed report of our Iberian Peninsula and its peoples... The intellectual summed up what Hispanics were in a stoning phrase: "The Celterian peoples if they joined, even to Rome it would be difficult to overcome them." And here is the fact that Queens of Taiphs apart, which also reflect our idiosyncracy or the constant secessionist attempts of not a few... something similar happens to us in the candle: how is it possible that within 10 miles two monotypes with fleets created recently, one in J70 and one in J80?... in Vigo 13, in Baiona 10... You were right.

First Day: Professor Gandara is made with the first race of the Bank Sabadell of J80

Javier de la Gandara leads the Trophy Bank Sabadell Class J80 after winning in the first day of the monotypes competition organized by Mount Real Club of Yates and held on Saturday in Baiona. At the root of the Okofen, Gandara led a crew that was very compenetrated and that demonstrated its good doing in the three trials played on an afternoon of clouds and blanks, but with good wind for navigation. The eleven knots that were recorded on average, with peaks of up to 14 for moments, allowed Okofen to "fly" over the bay's waters, and to achieve two first positions and one second on the barlovento sotavento routes designed by the regatta committee.

That last first position that was escaped from the De la Gandara was taken away by Pedro Paula Pinto's Miudo, his most direct rival on this opening day of the trophy. The Portuguese kept a hard hand-to-hand with the Galician during the entire competition, but finally had to settle for provisional silver. In the third position of the Trophy Bank Sabadell Class J80 is placed the Pazo de Cea, of Javier Rey, to which the Namasto of Luis de Mira and the Alumisel of Willy Caamaño, fourth and fifth following the first tests held on Saturday.
