Alex Pella's "Galvana" returns to Marina Denia after participating in Les Voiles de Saint Tropez
The Spanish navigator Alex Pella and his ship 'Galvana', returned last Monday to their base port, Marina de Denia, after fighting the Les Voiles race, in Saint-Tropez, last weekend. The 'Galvana' won a third place, in a very close group, with three J12 M, former American Cup ships and two Maxi. "It has been a pleasure to resail with my brother Borja on this wonderful team," Pella says.
Last Tuesday, Alex Pella traveled to French Britain, to begin the final line of the preparation of the Julio Verne Trophy, in a new attempt to beat the record of the World Sailing Tour. "Idec Sport 'is better prepared than last year, we know each other more and it seems that our direct rival the' Spindrift 'will come out later, which will make us take off some more pressure," says Alex Pella.
The idea is to try the record from 20 October. From that day on, the team will enter "Standby" mode pending the right weather conditions to leave. "Nothing is done, I am aware that the bar is very high and that this new attempt is going to be very demanding for the ship and for us. But being back here is a pleasure, a luxury to be back with Francis Joyon and the rest of the partners, I will enjoy it to the maximum, sure."
