It was presented at the Real Club Astur de Regatas the Abanca Week that began in Galician waters last September, which consists of a total of eight cycles of different sailing and rowing competitions, which will end at the end of the month in the Ria de Pontevedra with the rowing competitions. In the past, light sailing and heavy sailing races have been completed, including two cycles reserved for the younger sailing in which it will compete in the optimal class. The first will be held in Gijón under the suggestive name of Gijón Optimt Experience and the second next week on the Portuguese coast of Porto: the Meeting Cidade of Matosinhos, both make up the so-called Kinder Trophy. The Council of Sports and Tourism of Gijón Jesús Martínez Salvador, the Director of Sports of the Principality José Ramón Tuero del Prado, the President of the Harbour Authority of Gijón Laureano Lourido Arteme, the President of the Asturias Federation of Vela Pascual Fernández López, the Territorial Director of Abanca in León and Asturias Marcos Lamas Seoane, the Delegate in Asturias of the Abanca Week Victor Montero Montero and the President of the Club of Regatas Alfredo Alegría. Great atmosphere, with all the Asturian press present and widespread satisfaction among all who spoke. Both the Club and Abanca, as well as the institutions present, wanted new editions in Asturias and its empowerment, to be an international reference point. Marcos Lamas, on behalf of Abanca, emphasized public recognition in the last season by the Todoregatas portal, as in the present at the National Sailing Awards of Mount Real de Baiona.

The bet of the Abanca Week under the slogan of "sailing & rolling," is friendship and collaboration between the main clubs in the northwestern corner of Spain and Portugal, belonging to the communities of Galicia, Asturias, León and the Lusitans. From this fact, several of the main clubs in the geographical area are present in the Organizing Committee, the case of the Atlantic Sailing Clube of Porto, the Monte Real Club of Yates of Baiona, the Club Marítimo de Canido-Vigo, the Liceo Marítimo de Bouzas- Vigo el Clube de Remo Ría de Marín, the Club Náutico de Sada- La Coruña and the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón.

This approach is making it possible to achieve important levels of partnership, exchange and unity. In the Asturian quotation, which has set a limit on the participation of 70 vessels, this philosophy has been chosen, but under the sign of quality. In this way the best Galician, asturian, Basque, Catalan and central optimists will compete on Saturday and Sunday with special significance in the capital of Spain, where the Real Club Náutico de Madrid is located, based in the San Juan swamp. In line of departure will be Galician regalists from the areas of La Coruña, Vigo and Baiona, as well as several components of the National Optimist Team based in the Catalan and Tarraconian clubs. It will compete in six sleeves divided on Saturday and Sunday, under the direction of the regatta of the asturian Eva Diez, who will have within this philosophy of unity, with the support of Pep Subirats (former director of the Catalan Federation and currently director of the Níutic Cambrils Club), the Vigués Emilio Méndez responsible for sports of the Marítimo de Canido referring to the Galician children's candle or Eduardo García Santamarina first technical of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra vizcazno, to cite three examples.
