España ya suma cuatro medallas en el Europeo de Ocean Race celebrado en Cerdeña (RFEP)

Spain already adds four medals to the European Ocean Race held in Sardinia (RFEP)

A total of diequeve athletes in Junior, Sub23 and Senior categories have participated in the European Championship held in Sardinia (Italy). The weather conditions for the race were not expected and all the athletes suffered the sun and the lack of waves during the 25 km of race, with exit in the Marina Piccola to the beach of Solanas. Only in the latter did the conditions appear to have enjoyed a true downwind race.

  • In male category SS1 senior, and champion of absolute Europe, Walter Bouzan was made with the Gold, followed by Luis Amado 5th, Esteban Medina 9th, Alvaro Fiuza 10th, Kiko Vega 11th, Carlos Cerezo 15th, Felipe Besada 25th, Albert Corominas 27th, Antoni Prats 40th and Daniel Sanchez 47º.
  • In senior female category Amaia Osaba was made with the Silver and Chloë Bunnett the 7th.
  • In the male category SS1 Sub23 James Fitzsimmons was raised with silver, Matias Di Candia 7th and Nacho Soler 8th.
  • In female category SS1 Sub23 Raquel Bota silver.
  • In male category SS1 junior Raul Galindo in 7th, Mario Herrero 10th and Gabriel Cabrera 12th.

In the case of a European Championship with such an influx, with over a hundred athletes from 13 countries, it has been a real head-for-the-organization, since the weather forecast has not been all that was expected, and the palists have suffered the discouragement of the lack of optimal conditions of a downwind-type race.
