Vulcan manages to sell its ferry under construction by guaranteeing 14 months of work
The prestigious Viguese Vulcan shipyard has closed with a shipowner the sale of the ferry that has to be built. The contract will be in effect in the coming weeks. In particular, the completion of the ship involves a total of 800,000 hours of work, occupying the shipyard for 14 months. Given the state of development of the project, such work may be started immediately upon the entry into force of the contract. The management has already informed the Enterprise Committee of the news, which will allow the shipyard to reload. The company has noted the efforts of all the parties involved in the last few months to achieve this agreement which guarantees its viability, among which it highlights the Xunta de Galicia. The ferry has 139.1 meters in length and 22 meters in sleeve, with a dead weight of 2,300 tons and a speed in service of 21.8 knots. It can take more than 1,500 passengers, with 52 cabins. In addition, it has 1,985 linear meters to carry cars, and 609 meters to trailers.
