Pio, Pio the European of Snipe goes to the Canary Islands, the Golden Castle
The 2016 Snipe Senio European Championship closes and does so with the trophy to the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria by Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo, after holding the guy on the last day in the Minor Sea. A somewhat quieter day in wind conditions. Two tests instead of three have been the decision this morning with the patterns. The brothers of Del Castillo were aware of the little margin with the second, one point, and also that having only two tests could cost the European scepter. For this reason, the batteries were put on the first test by signing a second job, while the partials of their immediate pursuers, although the surprise was given by the Malagueños Álvaro Martínez and Gabriel Utrera by adding their first partial triumph in the Gold series.
Decided the champion of Europe, it was left to know the squares in the back. In this line Alvaro Martínez and Gabriel Utrera of the Mediterranean RC remain seconds in the championship of Santiago de la Ribera, after signing today 1-2 with 21 points, three of the champions. The third square is for Brazilian Alexandre Tinoco and Spanish Victor Pérez of the CN Canal, with 23 points. The fourth and fifth, respectively, has been for Francisco and Marina Sánchez del R.C.R.S.Ribera (30 pts.) and Damian Borras and Carlos Bats (39 pts,) of CN Mahón.

Third day: European Snipe: Canaries hold on to a very committed leadership
The European of Snipe Senior that has been taking place since last Wednesday comes to the last day and will do so with much equality and minimal differences in the gold group. Proof of of this is the general at the close of the third day in which the canaries Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo remain leaders, but with a margin as short as a point on the second, the Brazilian Alexandre Tinoco and Victor Pérez and two on the third of the table: the local Francisco and Marina Sánchez and the almeriens Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández. The Canaries of Del Castillo have not had their day, but they have saved the ballot for two reasons. The first, for the partial triumph in the second test and the second for the discard that has been applied, so 12 marked in the first was left out. In the third they signed an 8. All this means that they add up to 9 points, but the result obtained in the classification of the qualifying series, which in their case ended first.

The Canaries Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo lead the group, but they do it with 10 points, while the Brazilian Alexandre Tinoco and Victor Pérez are second to 1 points. The premises Francisco and Marina Sánchez and the almeriens Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández are located in the third square and both with 13 points (Pep Portas)
These points, which cannot be ruled out, on the position of the table in that classification series can pass an invoice or be an advantage, especially and in this case to the canaries of Del Castillo. In this line we have the Brazilian Alexandre Tinoco and the Madrileño Victor Pérez, fifth when we access the gold group. Nor has it been your day, although they improved in the last two 14-3-3. All this leaves them with an 11-point balance. The provisional bronze is shared by the premises Francisco and Marina Sánchez (QS2) and the almeriens Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández (QS3). The first and second have maintained the same line of irregularity. The Sanchez brothers started with 10, to continue with 17 and say goodbye with a partial triumph that leaves them ahead. The almeries, for their part, started well with two fifths on, but... The third one was going to 25.
The provisional top ten are closed with the Malagueños Álvaro Martinezy Gabriel Utrera; the Belgians Manu Hens and Maj Kristin Hansen; the Gallegos (sailing through the nautical of Madrid); the Baleares Damian Borras and Carlos Bats and Teo Matheuy Pedro Cabrer and closing the list the Portuguese Mafalda and Tomás Pires of Lima. Tomorrow Saturday the last day is fought with three sleeves, and seen them and the general is expected three very disputed tests in which it can pass from all and can jump sparks.
Second day: Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo de Canarias, take command
The second day in the Minor Sea already leaves us the defined Gold and Silver groups, with few variations on the intended script as in the 55's cut there are almost all the favorites that have options to be on the podium. After the fourth test is completed and the discards in play have been defined the posts on the table, so the canaries Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo have placed themselves leaders. The regatists of the nautical Gran Canaria have had a brilliant performance, much more successful than yesterday, and today with 1-2-1 places them up although their advantage is only 3 points over the premises Francisco and Marina Sánchez. The Ribera started with a second, then a first and in the last test they were unable to complete it (DNF).

The premises Francisco and Marina Sánchez, and the almeriens Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández occupy provisional podium square
The almerians Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández, who have shown themselves somewhat irregular 3-6-5, remain in third place, in the absence of the closing of that final series with two days and six planned tests. The Almería Nautico total 19 points, to 9 of the leader. Jordi Triay and Lluis Mas (CM Mahón), stay with the fourth square with 21 points, after reaching the equator of the championship. The baleares have gone from more to less: 3-9-8. The fifth place remains, for the time being, the Brazilian ship of Alexandre Tinoco forming tandem with the madrileño Victor Pérez who add 23 points. The top ten is closed with the Bats Juanma Barrionuevo and Alejandro Díaz (24 ptos.); the Portuguese Mafalda and Tomas Pires of Lima (today has not been their day 6-11-10); the Malagueños Álvaro Martínez and Gabriel Utrera who are tied to 28 points with the Portuguese; the Belgians Manu Hens and Maj Kristin Hansen (30 ptos.) and Martin Bermudez and Angela Pumariega (32 ptos).
First day: Beginning with Spanish domain
Francisco and Marina Sánchez (1-2-7); Jordi Triay and Lluis Mas and Gustavo (4-1-5) and Rafael del Castillo (2-4-4) share the first provisional square with 10 points. The local snipers are placed ahead thanks to their 1-2-7 partials, while the baleares with 4-1-5 remain seconds and the canaries, with 2-4-4 in the third square.
Spain has shown its level in the class as up to four more crews have been placed in the top ten: Pablo Fresneda and Eliezer Fernández, rooms; Carlos Soto and Gregorio Belmonte, sextos; Fran Palacio and Jaime Álvarez- Hevia, Novios and Pablo García and Lucas Rodríguez in the tenth square. The Portuguese Mafalda and Tomas Pires of Lima (4-1-7), occupy fifth place, tied to 12 points with the almeriens Fresneda and Fernández (1-7-4). The Brazilian Alexandre Tinoco, forming tandem with the Spanish Victor Pérez (11-3-3) stay in the seventh square, followed by the Italians Pietro Fantoni / Marinella Gorgatto (9-9-1) that went from less to more, with two seconds placed to end with a first in the last test that has been very complicated for both groups.

The wind has complicated things in the opening day: Francisco and Marina Sánchez; Jordi Triay-Lluis Mas and Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo share the first square with 10 points (Pep Portas)
Very complicated day in the Minor Sea, with very little wind and many wind roles, proof of this have been the hours of departure, as well as the exits and cancellations when the fleet faced the first girth. For the yellow group it has been produced at 14.43, while in the blue the fleet has been launched at 15: 29. The third and final test was launched at 18: 20. For tomorrow, the second of the four days planned, the wind conditions are expected very similar to today's, so a long and complicated day is also expected.
