Interesting contribution to the Catalan tourist sector, its nautical stations

The 570 companies in the nautical tourism sector of Catalonia, operating in seven stations of the Catalan territory, billed 320 million euros in 2015. The largest amount was in the province of Girona, which concentrates the largest number of stations. Of the total number of companies, 359 are in Girona, which billed 194 million; followed by the 88 million of the two nautical stations in Tarragona, which bring together 148 companies, and the 38 million that the two stations in Barcelona have a total of 63 associated companies. According to the Association of Nautical Stations of Catalonia (AENC), these figures support the good functioning of this mode of leisure and the activities it offers, mostly related to the restoration, the hotel and the services sector. Most of them are small companies that occupy between four and six workers and they charge about 600,000 euros per year. The model of the nautical stations includes a public-private management involving local companies and municipalities of the seven destinations specialized in this type of activities in Catalonia.
