El "Yamamay" lleva una temporada increíble.

The Yamamay has an amazing season.

The Castro Cup will follow another year in the Cantabrian town and not in Getxo. And all because Javier Gallo's' Yamamay 'again met the forecasts on a rainy weekend in the Cantabrian Sea and this competition was once again noted after the tests held between Getxo and the Cantabra town, the last entirely in the waters of Castro Urdiales. The crew of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander outperformed in the final general of class AB the' Maitena 'of Mikel Emaldi, the' Despeinado 'of Carlos Maidagan, the' Phoenix 'of Ricardo Peña and the' Tana 'of Javier CHA varri. The pattern of the' Yamamay 'raised a Castro Cup that has already been obtained eleven times since the start of the new millennium (2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016). In the CD class, the' Portu 'vizcadino de Antonio Tena was imposed, while the' Katxoka 'of Gonzalo Díaz Munio was the first between the J 80 monotypes and the' Taramay 'of Roberto Llano was the first class, the last two representatives of the Castro club.

First day: Getxo-Castro Urdiales, "Yamamay" leader

The "Yamamay 'by Javier Gallo, the main favorite of the final win, is the leader of the 2016 Castro Cup after the first 16-mile test between Getxo and the cantabra town. The crew of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander is the candidate for victory by overcoming in the general of class AB the' Maitena 'of Mikel Emaldi, the' Go Blue 'of Ángel Herreerías, the' Tana 'of Javier Miguvarri and the' Phoenix 'of Ricardo Peña. The Yamamay used 2 hours, 1 minute and 27 seconds to approach a Castro Cup that has won ten times since 2000. In the CD class the' Portu 'of Antonio Tena was imposed, while the' Katxoka 'of Gonzalo Díaz Munio is first between the J 80 monotypes and the' Taramay 'of Roberto Llano leads the First 8 class. This Sunday the decisive day is disputed in a technical race with an Olympic triangle in 12-mile water of Castro Urdiales.

La Copa Castro 2016, the race that links the Vizcaine town of Getxo with the cantabra of Castro Urdiales, faces a new edition this weekend. This test is already one of the classic sailing in the Cantabrian Sea and will have approximately 50 participating sailing boats. Many of the best ships of the Basque and Cantabra fleets are gathered in a race in which the ships will compete in the Cruise, J 80 and First Class 8 classes, looking for the precious Cup Castro the ships of the Cruise division. The most outstanding units and crews of the Cantabric will sail in a race that was created in 1907 and whose trophy is one of the most persecuted by the patterns in this final section of the annual sailing calendar.

La Copa Castro is organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club and the Real Club Náutico de Castro Urdiales, under the auspices of the Real Federación Española de Vela. The two notable races consist of an online tour between Getxo and Castro (16 to 18 miles, this Saturday day 17), while the second is already a technical race with an Olympic triangle in the waters of Castro Urdiales (12 miles). The sum of the two races will decide the winner of the test. The 'Yamamay' is the main favorite for victory, while the 'Aizen', 'Symphony', 'Tana', 'Maitena', 'Salem', 'Zazpiki', 'Gorilón' and 'Tarita' also appear in the quinielas. The schedule for the departure of both tests is 1 p.m.

The Castro Cup is always exposed in the winning club of the last edition: in the Real Club Náutico de Castro Urdiales if the winner is a canteen boat; and in the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club if the winner is a Basque boat. This year the trophy has presided over the Cantabrian Club following the absolute victory of Javier Gallo's' Yamamay 'in the last edition of the 2015 Castro Cup. The Yamamay crew knows well what it is to raise the precious and classic trophy that the winner of this trial dates back to 1907. It has done so in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.

The Castro Cup is one of the oldest sailing competitions to be held and is listed as the first cruise race (on a journey) organized by a sailing club in the country. It was created by the Real Sporting Club in 1907 with a tour that took place between the ports of Getxo and Castro Urdiales. It is a unique case in the Spanish candle, as it is a trophy donated by a whole town - Castro Urdiales - and acquired by popular subscription among its neighbours. The disappearance of the trophy, in 1973, during the fire at the headquarters of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra, seemed to mark the final end of this race that has far exceeded its centenary. But the test was recovered in the 1990s of the last century.
