Sailing in the Paralympic Games of Rio: Arturo Montes competes in 2.4mr
This will be the first participation in the Paralympic Games of Arturo Montes. His life changed in 2011 when he suffered a nautical accident. He had previously been a science rugby player for 16 seasons, winning the Rugby King's Cup and then winning the sailing Cup as part of the Damm Star crew. Following the accident he discovered the class 2.4mR that has been dedicated to in recent years and in which he has obtained the classification after a hard selection with high-level regatists such as Rafa Andarias, Antonio Maestre and Borja Melgarejo - the latter is currently his sparring- being Ignacio Zalvide his personal coach. Montes is the current Spanish champion of 2.4mR.
