The Abanca Week will bring together between September 15 and October 29 500 sailing and rowing ships with more than a thousand athletes, who will compete in the Rías de Vigo, Baiona, Pontevedra and Sada, the Bay of Gijón and the coast of Matosinhos, in the area of the Gran Porto. The event referred to in the multi-layer concentrations at national level and which has been awarded and recognized by different organisms, is the only one that brings together the only competitions of light candle, heavy candle and rowing, and also has a cultural aspect. The event was attended by the Mayor of Vigo Abel Caballero, as well as the Xeral Secretary of Sports of the Xunta de Galicia, José Ramón Lete Lasa, among other authorities. The great novelties of this edition the additions of the Nautical Club of Sada that comes to cover the lack of 2015 in respect of races on the coast of Coruñesa and that of the legendary Monte Real Club of Yates of Baiona. It has been designed, in order to specialize and not collide with other events with a profile similar to a priori, both from the City of Vigo itself, and from other Galician areas. That is why it has gone into a format as ambitious as it is different that will complement and at the same time enrich what is already going on by other clubs. It is the plan of the Organizing Committee to invite to participate in the Abanca Week, for future editions to the provinces of León, Lugo and Ourense, in order to complete all the macro-region of Galicia, Asturias, León and North Portugal.

The Coca Cola Series of Vigo, organized by the Club Marítimo de Canido, will be the ones that break the fire with official races of 420, Vaien and Laser. In total more than 150 ships and about 300 athletes to start, over three days, the stellar test the Spanish Cup of Vaien. After the Maritime, the witness takes the vicedecan of the Galician nautical clubs, the Bouzas Maritime Liceo, which will organize two cycles: the Gadis Laser Extremo (the only race of this type to be held in Spain) and the Vila de Bouzas- Navionics Trophy for cruises. The Monte Real Club de Yates will be responsible for the organization of the Press Race, in which media professionals from all over Spain will compete in two days in their six Figaro. The two cycles that will be held below will be those of the children's candle, the optimal class. First in Gijón organized by the centenary Real Club Astur de Regatas and then the Cidade de Matosinhos. Both form the Kinder Trophy. The beautiful Ria de Sada takes the witness with the Regata Terras Gauda, in which it will try to reach the figure of half a hundred ships, which would mean a record in coruñese waters.

After the candle it's the turn to the rowing. The Remo Ria de Marín Clube organizes the Galicia de Bateles Cup for female (absolute and youth) and male (youth, cadet and children) crews. It is estimated that at least 300 athletes from all over Galicia compete. Also in Marin organized by the Galician Federation of Remo and the sponsorship of the Concello de Marín will be held the Gala del Remo, with the annual awards of both traditional and Olympic rowing, which will put an end and end to an edition that is presumed to be spectacular of the Abanca Week "Sailing & Rowing."
