The Harbour Authority has presented a satisfactory results to 31 July

The Harbour Authority of Vigo has obtained an increase of 7% in its account of results until last July. In the movement of Goods, there is a decrease of 1.73%, mainly due to the fall of cement traffic (31.67%) and frozen fishing (12.37%). The Management report for the first seven months of the financial year 2016 covers both economic and statistical data. As for the latter, there has been a decrease in the movement of Goods by 1.73%, mainly due to the downward line of cement traffic (31.67%) and the timely fall of frozen fishing (12.37%), compared to the same period of the previous year.

It also highlighted intermodal traffic, especially the ro-ro semi-trailers, linked to the Autopista del Mar, which represents 31.12%. The containers handled with a crane, although in July they have suffered a decrease of 13.05% from the same month of the previous year, due to the diversion of some of the traffics from the Maersk shipping to the port of Marin and the decrease in frozen fishing, in the cumulative period of the first seven months are practically maintained, although with a slight decrease of 0.5%. The goods moved within the containers, both ro and lo, have increased until July compared to the same period of the previous year by 3.53%. On the other hand, fresh fishing has seen a marked decline in July compared to the previous July, of 46.82%, justified in the low import of fishing from Portugal. However, the rate for fresh fishing (T4) has increased by 8.81%, which indicates that the catch value has increased.

As regards the Ship Register, despite the decrease in the number of 1,001 to 955, there was an increase of 7.52% of the GTS, compared to the first seven months of the previous year. This confirms the trend in sea traffic of increasing units. Finally, with regard to economic data, the increase of 7.08% in the entire Results Account over the same period of the previous financial year is observed, as is the cumulative operating result in the same period, resulting in a result of 472,000 euros. In short, the post-tax result is positive, reaching the figure of 488,300 euros.
