Second Day: Nautical of Gran Canaria leader

The Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, the Club Nàutic El Balís, the Club Nàutic S'Arenal and the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, classified in general by this order, will play the two semi-finals of the Spanish Team Racing Championship of the Optimist class that hosts the Club de Mar Mallorca. This afternoon, the second round of clashes between the seven participating teams was completed. The group that is the leader, will play the pass to the great final against the Nautical Club of Torrevieja that occupies the fourth square, while the Nautic Club El Balís that marches second and the Náutic S'Arenal Club that is third, will do the same in the other semi-final. The Royal Mediterranean Club, the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo and the Club of Mar Mallorca have been left out of the fight for the medals.

The canary team, the Royal Nautical Club of Torrevieja, the Nautic Club El Balís and the Nautic Arenal Club will fight to be at the big end of tomorrow. First Day: The leading Balis after the first act

The teams of Club Nàutic El Balís, Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja and Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria have been in charge of the Spanish Team Racing Championship of the Optimist class and are the ones who have the most options for the semifinals to be held tomorrow. The competition is being organized by the Club de Mar de Palma de Mallorca.

Although it was initially planned to divide the teams into two groups, so that the first four were classified directly for semi-finals, the organization has accepted the unanimous request of all participants for a complete round robin (21 clashes) to be reheld tomorrow Saturday. Of the classification obtained from the total of 42 races, the table of semifinalists shall be decided. If time allows, the four best-qualified teams will face each other to see which of them are classified by the end of Sunday. If this is not possible, for lack of time, part of the semi-final (which consists of 12 races) will be left for the last day of competition. The Nàutic Club El Balís is, for the moment, the strongest and most leading solo team in the general. Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Real Club Nautico de Torrevieja and Real Club Nautico de Gran Canarias are tied to points.

Team Racing tests face two teams in a very small race field and have a very short duration. Each set consists of four regatists and one reserve. The tour consists of a girdle, a through, a stern, another through and another girdle, and wins the team that gets less points depending on the position each regatist occupies at the end of the sleeve. The first one gets a point, the second two and so on until the eighth. All the results are added and the team that gets the lowest score is the winner. In the unlikely case of an 18-point tie (1-2-7-8 versus 3-4-5-6), it wins combined that it has not done first.

The Club de Mar Mallorca will host, from tomorrow Thursday to next Sunday, the Optimst class Spanish Team Racing Championship. Eight nautical clubs, representing their respective autonomous communities (with the exception of the Balearic Islands, which will have two teams), will participate in the race. The competition will be held in the waters of the Bay of Palma, in an area between Es Portitxol and the Cathedral of Mallorca, through the system called 'Round Robin', of direct clashes between the teams.

Tomorrow's day will be devoted to the confirmation of inscriptions, measurements and documentation verification. The first race of the Championship is scheduled for Friday at noon. The last sleeve will be held on Sunday. That same afternoon, the official trophy ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Club de Mar Mallorca. The Spanish Team Racing Championship, organized by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) and the Spanish Association of the International Class Optimist (AECIO) with the Coca-Cola Collaboration, brings together the champion clubs of this modality of each autonomy, as well as the organizing club team as a guest.

Baleares will be represented by the winner of the territorial championship, the Nàutic S'Arenal Club, and the Club de Mar Mallorca. The other participants are the Real Club Mediterranean (Andalusia), the Nautico Club El Balís (Catalonia), the Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo (Galicia), the Real Club Nautico de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) and the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena (Murcia).
