Economic sanctions for infringements can lead to large fines

The issue that covers the situations defined by the State Ports and Merchant Marina Act as offences is of great interest in the world of the recreational and sports nautical of our country, in all matters relating to its application as fines, or to the penalties they may entail. The State Ports and Merchant Marina Act brings them together in three major groups: small, serious and very serious... which may involve economic sanctions of up to 60,000, 120,000 and three million euros respectively. These offences are prescribed after one, three or five years of their action and omission.

Mild fractions
Be a passenger and be under the effects of alcohol, drugs or psychotropic substances.

Conduct ship reforms affecting structure or propellant machine without Authority permission.
Navigate without established lights and signalling systems.

Very serious infringements
To put people's health or life at serious risk.
Pollutant discharges into port waters.
Sail without the ship meeting the navigability conditions.
To pass the ship on a hospital or rescue ship by means of markings.
To be the boat's pattern under the effects of alcohol, drugs or similar substances.
Denying the duty of help when requested or presumed to be.
Put the ship in danger.
Provide professional navigation services without the appropriate administrative authorization.
Falsification of documents required by the Authority.
The pollution of the marine environment, taking into account its consequences.
