The Galician Committee of Deportiva Justice of the Xunta de Galicia, under the responsibility of the General Secretariat of the Sport Galician has accepted the request of the shipowner and regatist Juan Carlos Pérez Olmedo, who requested the "precautionary suspension" to the punishment of the Galician Federation of Vela for eight months to the patron of the "Ozoaqua," to show in his main candle the message "Cellula Non" by considering it as offensive and political court advertising. The situation jumped into a serious race in the Ria de Pontevedra, in which after several days of leadership of the ship of Olmedo, the Regatas Committee considered it necessary to apply the disqualification for an advertising that has no framework in the sailing races.

From the minute one of this affair began an argument between Juan Carlos Pérez Olmedo (doctor in medicine of recognized prestige, in his fight against cancer, and one of the Galician historical sailors)first in the race, then in the Galician Federation, and finally the subject has already jumped to the ordinary courts. The spark that burned the discussion on unsuspected levels, happened in the so-called Trophy Villa de Bouzas de Cruises held last October, in which the President of the Galician, Manuel Villaverde, orally and by telephone, threatened the judge, José María González, in a difficult action to justify from any ethical code. (which has been carrying out this task for 35 years)and then to the Bouzas Maritime Liceum, the vicedecan of the Galician candle. As a colofon, he punished the above-mentioned Judge, and the Club... even though, following the appropriate complaints, José María González was the only one who was harmed, without eating him or drinking him, and of course the good of Juan Carlos Pérez Olmedo. Now there is a period of hope, and the fact that the Xunta stopped this matter in the dry, is something that deserves the congratulations of a large sector of the Galician candle.

The "Cantora" of Villaverde and Giraldo

The Galician Federation of Vela has become a real cortijo as "La Cantora de la Pantoja" for Manuel Villaverde and his inseparable friend Fernando Giraldo. The disgraceful President of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, José Angel Rodríguez Santos, has a way of directing the increasingly sunken Galician candle to its entire whim, and everyone who moves is purified and persecuted without mercy. Fernando Giraldo is co-owner of the company "Desmarque" that is dedicated to organizing events in Galicia, of sail preferably, and there is one who will not have them!, the one who dares is removed from the table of the Lord... This has been the cause of complaints on occasion, and all of us who have raised the tone of our just complaints... have received corruptions, punishment and scarlet. And this is the tenderness in which Juan Carlos Pérez Olmedo has been immersed... as well as the Maritime Liceo that has stopped counting on the offer of his services... the José María thing is that, in the opinion of Manuel Villaverde, he challenged him by not complying with orders outside the standard given by phone!... They remember Richard Kimble (The Fugitive) and Barry Morse (The Police Lieutenant), as in this film they are Juan Carlos Pérez Olmedo and Manuel Villaverde... I hope this Galician version ends up as the original we saw on TVE in the '60s.
