As an event concerning the national level of responsible sports fishing, the Organizing Committee of the Metromar Circuit delivered to the Food Bank of Cantabria, which was represented by José Abando and other partners of this association dedicated to helping altruistically the less favoured, all the catches of the Cup of S.M.El Rey that was held between 29 and 31 July organized by the Royal Maritime Club of Santander and the Spanish Federation of Fisheries and Casting. Between the two days, all the crews donated not only for the legislation of the competition itself, but with total complacency of 2,000 kilograms! of batted tuna and nice to the Food Bank, which in turn distributed it to various institutions case of the Santander Economic Kitchen. The contribution of the very tasty and unparalleled beautiful north could be valued at about 12 to 15,000 euros.

The Food Bank is present in the Metromar Circuito as a recipient of the precious product, as is the Spanish Institute of Oceanography through its biologists from the Centro de Tunidos de Málaga, who were already in the Spanish Championship in Moraria, and will be in the Copa de Catalunya de Cambrils. The first and most important article of the Circuito is the sustainability of the marine environment and the defence of responsible fishing, following scrupulously the rules of the Spanish State on the subject and of the EEC. In this sense the collaboration of the immersive clubs (Moraira, Santander and Cambrils), as well as the Spanish Federation of Fisheries and Casting, and the autonomous of Valencia, Cantabria and Catalonia, as well as the understanding and determined support of all 500 athletes who will eventually participate in the Circuit, is total and absolute.
