Students of the School of Sailing of Calanova participate in the collection of waste from the beaches of the area.

The Paralympic swimming champion, Xavi Torres, along with more than 50 students from the Calanova School of Sailing, have today been thrown into the sea to clean the beaches of the area and leave them free of waste and plastics.

This is an awareness-raising campaign, organized by the Calanova National School of Sailing in which Coca-Cola collaborates, which aims to convey to the little ones the importance of caring for the environment and keeping the beaches and the sea clean.

Thus, the sportsman has given the children volunteers in this activity an explanatory talk about how the waste reaches the coast and what can be done to prevent it. The participants have then come kayak to the beaches near the port of Calanova and for two hours have collected the most common waste in this environment such as cigarette butts, food wrappers, bottles, cans and plastic bags among others.
