Six medals for the National Youth Team in the Youth Cup

The youth team of the National Remo Team returns with six medals from Poznan, where this weekend the Youth Cup has been held, which has brought together about 280 athletes from major European countries (FER)
Spain has harvested two gold medals, two plates and two bronzes, and has been placed at the sixth place in the final country classification, which led Britain. The British were therefore classified as Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, France, Poland, Belgium, Portugal and Ireland. The two Spanish victories arrived in the 4-JF mode where the girls, Paula Salarich, Aitzpea González, Damaris Beltri and Nuria Puig, repeated at the top of the podium in the two days. Alfonso Berral, Manel Balastegui, Cristian Loredo and Ignacio Sebastián rose with two silver medals during the two days. This modality, together with 2xJM, was the one with the most participation. On Saturday, Spain finished third by qualifying for the Final A. In this one, a very equal race was lived and in conflict with Britain. The silver for ours and the bronze for Poland. On Sunday gold was for Britain, silver for Spain and bronze for Belgium. In 2-JM participated Sergi Mariano and Isaac Álamo. On Saturday they were made with the bronze medal, after British and Italian. On Sunday they repeated the first three classified. The only ones who could not get a medal, even though they were ready, were Carlota Alvarez and Carmen Machuca in 2-JF. On Sunday they were fourth after Britain, Ireland and Belgium. Point and final for the thirty-second edition of the Youth Cup next year will be held in the Belgian town of Hazewinkel.

A part of the national youth team, concentrated in Banyoles since last June, is travelling today to Poznan (Poland) where tomorrow the Youth Cup begins. Some 280 athletes from the 12 countries that form this European competition - Austria, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain - will form the 94 boats to be gathered in the waters of Lake Malta in the three days of race. On Friday, the final of 8 + F will be held, while on Saturday and Sunday, in independent days, they will be able to complete the rest of the modalities.
