The cleaning area corresponded to the western espionage of the Marina (Playa de Santa Amaro de Oeiras, Estuario del Tajo). With this action begins the program "Iberian Circle of Environment," in the maximum of km of possible coast of the Peninsula.

The Ecomar Foundation, chaired by Theresa Zabell, and Coca-Cola moved to the lisboeta town of Oeiras, at the mouth of the Tagus, to carry out their first joint coast cleaning in this country. Oeiras Marina has been the chosen site for Ecomar's first incursion in Portugal. Theresa Zabell has found in Olympic medalist Nuno Barreto, a Navy advisor, a strong ally to continue to watch over the environment, this time in Portugal. The Portuguese regatist, who won bronze at the Atlanta Olympic Games with Hugo Rocha, trained during the prolegomenas of the American Olympic competition with the couple of the 470 Spanish female has wanted to join this initiative that captains the Olympic champion of those Games.

The young Portuguese in the programme "Viva as Fairs" de Oeiras Viva put a lot of effort into the action and collected 20.1 kilos of waste, which deposits the Tajo River at the mouth. The force of the plamar, which fights the stream of the river, makes the area especially stirred and keeps the waste going around the estuary. Theresa Zabell and Tiago Marcelino, Director of the Navy, led the operation and combined to make this kind of collaboration common between the Ecomar Foundation and Oeiras Viva.

Theresa and Tiago told them how to respect the environment while you have fun doing Sport, teaching them how most of the waste goes to our shores and how we can help avoid it, one of the star workshops in the Bitacean Notebook of the Ecomar Grympola Program. The aim of the Ecomar Foundation is to edit a Notebook in Portuguese to close the Iberian Circle of the Environment. This new Portuguese adventure was part of 30 girls and boys.
