Anna Boada and Aina Cid ended up in the sixth place of the final rowing in the mode of two without timonel. With this end the adventure of the Spanish rowing in Rio 2016... the performance of the Spanish couple in the final of 2-f, has been very meritorious achieving diploma for the Spanish rowing. The gold was for the British Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, while the silver was for the New Zealand Genevieve Behrent and Rebecca Scown, and the bronze for the Danish Hedvig Rasmussen and Anne Andersen.

Fifth day

The Spanish rowing is again present in an Olympic final. Our girls, Anna Boada and Aina Cid, have passed the semifinals and tomorrow they will be in the fight for the medals... the semifinals of two without the female timonel have been held. The Spanish women, who left on 2nd Street of the second of the sleeves, have faced China, New Zealand, Germany and France in a race with the end of a heart attack.

Anna Boada y Aida Cid ya están en la gran final de 2-f

Anna Boada and Aida Cid are already in the big final of 2-f

In the first paddles, the Danes were put to the head, a position they have not left until they crossed the line of arrival at a time of 7: 27.56. The struggle, even the equator of race, has been between New Zealand and Spain for the second position, however, in the 1,000 meters the New Zealanders have increased the rate of paddles and in the 1,500 they arrived with more than two seconds of advantage over the Spanish ones. The struggle then moved to the 3rd position, which gave access to the last place at stake to be in the long-awaited Olympic final. Spain and China were almost at hand until the last meters that have been of real heart attack. Finally, eleven hundred have separated Spanish from Chinese. Anna and Aina entered third place with a time of 7: 30.79, to 3.23 of the Danes and to 1.22 of the New Zealanders. The Olympic dream continues. In the first of the series, Britain won with authority with a record of 7: 18.69, exceeding the US in 2.24 and South Africa in 5.34. Romania, Poland and Italy have completed the classification. On Friday, at 4: 04 (Spanish time) the final will be held in which the Spanish, on 1st Street, will be seen faces with New Zealand, Great Britain, Denmark, the United States and South Africa. It will be a very complicated ending in which the British, unbeatable since the London 2012 JJOO, are going as favorites.

Last Time

The rowing competition is suspended until tomorrow Thursday due to bad weather conditions. So Anna Boada and Aina Cid, who were going to compete, will not be able to do so.

Fourth day

The two Spanish boats that are playing the 2016 Rio Olympic Games these days had different luck on yesterday's day. Face for Anna Boada and Aina Cid who qualified for the semifinals, passing to the history of the Spanish rowing; Cross for Álex Sigurbjörnsson and Pau Vela, who said goodbye to the Olympic dream. Anna Boada and Aina Cid could not have better debut on the Olympic date. They finished second in the 2-F eliminations, classifying directly for the semi-finals where they will look for a square for the Final A. They crossed the line of arrival in 7: 12, to 6.86 of the Americans, Felice Mueller and Grace Luczak, one of the favorite couples after having won the gold at this year's Remo World Cup. They recorded the sixth best time of the fifteen boats that dispute the mode, which makes them serious candidates to be in the final dream A. The Americans set an unattainable pace, so the fight was in the 2nd and 3rd position, where three teams - Spain, Poland and Italy - were looking for the two places at stake for the semifinals. Our girls, who left on 1st Street, came out very strong. They held the second position from the first paddles to the entrance in finish, although in the 1,500 meters, the Italian ones reached only 21 hundred of the Spanish ones. In the last stretch, Anna and Aina went up the pace to hold the position and increase the difference to 82 centuries over the Polish, which were cut in the third position, relegating Italy to fight the refishing.

Una de arena y otra de cal. Los chicos se han quedado fuera y las chicas estarán en semifinales (FER).

One of sand and one of lime. The boys are out and the girls are in the semifinals.

Worse luck had Álex Sigurbjörnsson and Pau Vela who yesterday fought the repescas after finishing in fifth position in the 2-M on Saturday. The tortosin couple finished fourth and last of the refishing, after the Netherlands, Serbia and USA so it was removed from the JJ.OO. Ours, who in the equator of the race remained third, and thus agreed to the classification for the semifinals, lost pace in the last meters and were overcome by the American couple, being relegated to the fourth final position.

Last hour of the third day

Fantastic our 2-, Anna Boada and Aina Cid girls who have been classified for the semifinals. They managed to place themselves in the sixth place of the previous eliminations, which consisted of three sleeves, and in their (which was the third) were only outperformed by the United States couple.

Second day

The strong wind, with bursts of up to 72 kilometres per hour, forced to cancel the rowing races scheduled for Sunday in the Rodrigo Lagoon of Freitas... if everything goes as planned and weather conditions allow, the races that were postponed yesterday will be fought. In this way, at 15: 30 (Spanish time), Álex Sigurbjörnsson and Pau Vela will go over the 2-M fish in which they will look for a square for the semifinals of the modality. To do so, they must end up among the first three. They will leave on 4th Street and face Serbia, the US and the Netherlands.

Due to the very poor conditions in which they had to row in the expulsions, with the water chopped and impracticable, the tortosin couple finished fifth with a time of 6: 54.26, after Australia, South Africa, Rep. Czech and US. Let us hope that today the conditions are less adverse and that ours can continue to pursue the Olympic dream. Anna Boada and Aina Cid will be released today in the waters of the Laguna Rodrigo de Freitas. They will be disposing of 2-F at 17: 50 (Spanish time). They will leave on the 1st Street of the 3rd of the eliminations where faces will be seen with Italy, the USA, Poland and Romania.

First day

The Spanish couple Sigurbjornsson- Vela, finished fifth in its qualifying series and goes directly to the refishing of "two without male timonel." The Spaniards ended in the first of the three series held at 13.47 seconds of the Austrian Turrin and Lloys

Sigurbjornsson and Vela finished fifth in the first of the three series contested 13.47 of the winners, the Australians Spencer Turrin and Alexander Lloyd, who were the best in the computation of all sleeves. After the Australians, there were Murray and Bond of New Zealand who have in their existence being six times world champions... in Rio their goal is to achieve the second Olympic gold.
