Marina Paliau is one of the great references of the Olympic Team. He arrives in Rio 2016 with the intention of defending the Olympic gold achieved in London 2012. In its third Olympic Games, at its 31 years, it has reached the highest degree of maturity at all levels, sports and personal. After winning the gold medal in Weymouth he decided to be a mother and take a year of sports rest, then return with strength and concentration to the final straight with the mind set in Rio.
Although he began to take off from a young age, at the age of 14 he already won his first world in the category of children, his career for an Olympic square began for the 2004 Athens Games, although it was not classified, he did so consecutively in the following three: Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.
Its palmarés is its reference, five continental titles (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012) and one world or medal (2009), two plates (2006 and 2014) and two bronces (2008 and 2011). It was the only medal of the Spanish delegation in the Olympic Sailing Worlds held in Santander in 2014.
It has not been easy to reach the highest, his great rival and companion of the CN Sevilla, has been Blanca Manchón, Olympic diploma in Athens and pentacampeone of the World Cup, but the fact that there can be only one representative per country, makes the selection when there are two crews so strong, much harder and more demanding.
Marina works with three coaches Alex Guayader, Nicolás Beudou and Elliot J. Carney.
