Salvamento Marítimo awards the construction of two new Salvamar ships
The Contracting Body of the Society of Salvation and Maritime Safety has decided to award the construction of two new savers to the Auxiliary Naval Company of the Principality S.A., for an amount of EUR 4 million. The addition of these two new vessels to the Salvamento fleet, as well as the addition of two other vessels already being built, is part of the process of updating the means provided for in the National Salvation Plan 2010- 2018. These units will replace four of the oldest of those currently operating. These vessels, 21.50 metres long, reach speeds above 30 knots. Built in aluminium and with low edge are suitable to rescue water shipwrecks, as well as provide trailers and assistance. The salvamars participate in most of the emergencies attended by Salvamento Marítimo, thanks to their rapid response and versatility.

Equipment and spare material for Strategic bases and boats
In addition, Salvamento Marítimo has awarded the contract for the supply of equipment and spare parts for the strategic bases and for the maritime units, to the company Martín Vega Machín, S.A. for an amount of 1.2 million euros. The contracted material - spare parts, accessories, materials for the repair of containment barriers, skimmers, pumps, etc. - will be supplied to the ships and to the strategic bases for the rescue and control of pollution. In these bases, rescue and pollution control teams are kept in a permanent position for immediate transfer to any point in the Spanish geography in the event of emergencies. The basic components of the material of each base are: oil containment fences for port and coast, oil recovery equipment of the surface of the sea, floating tanks of storage of the recovered hydrocarbon, diving equipment and elements for operations considered special.
