World FEVA: The British fleet takes eight of the top ten places in Santander
The Royal Maritime Club of Santander has crowned the new world champions of the FEVA category after five days of hard competition. 165 vessels, representing 17 countries and 4 continents, have fought for the world scepter after 14 races in the waters of the open and santanderin bay. Fourth day: Spain with medal options
The Spanish crew formed by Pablo Fernández and Laureano Salcines has shone after closing an excellent day in which it has signed a partial of seven, first, seventeen and five. The entry into play of the discard of the worst result has made the cantabres of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander stand at only five points from the podium and with even three races to be played. In an almost marathon day with four races in the Autogomas race area, the general classification becomes like the cat and the mouse.
The second ranked William Punk and Finlay Dickinson went on to lead the general, while Freddy Peters and Louis Johnson fell to the second step of the podium after the four trials. Third is the Swedish Oscar Andersson and Ragnar Alfredsson in a tight position with just points of difference, on the fourth the New Zealand Eli Liefting and Rose Dickson- and the fifth classified the Spanish Pablo Fernández and Laureano Salcines. Friday at 11: 00 in the morning begins the last day, ahead of three tests as an ideal goal. In the afternoon the Ceremony of Clausura, at least at the end of the third day we have once again had the illusion that Spain will get into the box of honor of this World Cup.
The rest of the Team of Spain is thus in their respective divisions: In the group Silver (from 51 to 101 of the general) Susana Hurtado and Cecilia Rodríguez are located 17 in the general, followed by Paloma Armengot and Malena López in position 36 and Vera Carpenter and Alba Salmon in 42. Third day: British Domain and a Spain that does not show
Once again the wind has been very lazy in Santander waters, forcing the fleet that fights the FEVA World Championship to wait for conditions suitable for the world scepter's dispute and that has left the 165 participants waiting until 3: 00. The area of Autogomas in the Sarmono has been the protagonist of the first day of the final series. The group Gold & # 8211between the first and 55th classified - has been the first to take the exit and the group in which the nerves have been most obvious. The score system in the final varies from that developed in the skill races. At the end each boat has come out with the points given by the ranking / position in the classification obtained in the previous races. In the race of the day the little wind to which part of the fleet could not end within the time limit. The Oro group, in which the Spaniards Pablo Fernández and Laureano Salcines are located, came to the water knowing that the final title would be among them.

Liderate in general for British inmovables who are on the fifth position (with Peters / Johnson, Pank / Dickinson, Lewis / Marshall, Taylor Carron, Elliot / Miles), followed by the Liefting / Dickson kiwis and the Italians Zinetti / Carbonelli. Pablo Fernandez and Laureano Salcines fall to the 19th position of the general.
The race has seen a radical change between the top 10 with regard to the previous classification, with New Zealand (Eli Liefting and Rose Dickson) and Italy (Mattia Zinetti and Davide Carbonelli) claiming positions in the top 10. Again the British, with Blake Wilson and Sam Dickinson in first position, Freddie Peters and Luis Johnson in second and Ewan Like and Zac Blomely in third position, claimed the podium. New Zealand representatives Liefting and Dickson have been the only ones to face British power, ending in fourth position. It was not the day of the Spanish favorites Fernandez and Salcines who after a not very good race ended in a 37th position and far from the results of past days.
