About a hundred palists participate in the Second Sea Club of Piragüismo
The Club de Mar Mallorca hosted the II Trophy of Piragüismo, which brought together almost a hundred palists from eight clubs of the island in the waters of the port and the bay of Palma. The host took the team victory with 464 points, opposite the 335 of the Port d'Andratx Sailing Club and the 202 of the Royal Port Nautical Club of Pollença.
The competition began at 10: 00 in the morning with the celebration of the 1,000-metre races inside the port, next to the Cruise Aidastela, for the base categories (Benjamin, Alevín and infantile). At the end of these tests, in which the young values of the clubs of Pollença and Andratx were above all highlighted, the departure of the journey of the sea kayak, which consisted of 9 kilometres (back and forth) between the West Dique and Ses Illetas.
The weather and time chosen for the race dispute (before the Embat entered Palma Bay) led to a journey without any incident, although some piragüists complained of the heavy temperatures.
The most prominent palists in K1 were cadet Luis Cerdó (Club Náutico Palmanova), junior Juan José Vallejo (of the same club) and senior Carlos Cerezo (Real Club Náutico de Palma). In Senior Dama he won the Piragüista of the Club de Mar María del Mar Ramón Barceló. The best in K2 were Sergio Hernaiz and Sergio Moragues (RCNP).
The award was held in the pants of the Club de Mar and was attended by Gonzalo Roig, the entity's sports coordinator, who delivered the 28 gold medals to the winners of the different categories.
