The Caribbean Titouane Boyer and French Juliette Brice have crowned themselves winners of the Peña Txuri Junior Pro Sopola, third test of the European circuitJunior Pro(Sub18) of the World Surf League, which has been held this week on the Vizcaine beach of Arrietara (Sopola). The small size of the waves was one of the main pitfalls for young Riders during the last day of competition, who had to bring out their best surfing to get good scores.

The women's final rooms opened the day with the incentive to fight in sleevesman- on- man(one against one), which they would soon put in front of the first two classified European ranking: the Portuguese Teresa Bonvalot and the Basque Ariane Ochoa. Both starred in a beautiful struggle, which leaned for the Lusian surfer; a manga victory that, at one test at the end of the circuit, translates into the title of junior European champion for the Portuguese one. The male final rooms warned show, with the canary Luis Díaz scoring the wave of the day, which started a 9 '5 of the judges. In females, the gipuzcoana Nadia Erostarbe succumbed in semi-finals to the surfing of the former European champion, the French Juliette Brice.

After completing the male and female semi-final rooms, the technical direction of the event decided to stop the competition provisionally until the improved conditions of the waves. With the somewhat lower tide and the beach crowded with public, the competition was resumed and the finals arrived. The female final placed in the water the newly crowned junior European champion, Teresa Bonvalot (POR), and the former champion, Juliette Brice (FRA). It took the Portuguese initiative, which managed to link some sections but did not end the wave. The replica of Brice was not made to wait, with a worked wave that the French drew to the shore to end with a good turnfront side(6 '33 points). The rest of the sleeve was a strip and loose of the two surfers for trying to connect sections to the shore. Bonvalot worked to improve his scores in the manga, in which the choice of wave was decisive to make possible the victory of the former European champion.

With a clear improvement in the state of the waves, the finalists of the male category, the canary Luis Diaz and the Caribbean Titouan Boyer, who offered a real surfing exhibition, stepped on the water. The grancanary, working a wave from theline-up(5 '83) and filling it withcutbacksand turnsfront side. Boyer's response was strong (8 '27). His powerful vertical back turns made it clear that the Caribbean came to win, although the canary had not yet said his last word. A 9-point wave confirmed this, minutes before Boyer's final replica (8' 27), which put a point and end to his brilliant performance by winning the victory. With this triumph the Caribbean ascends to the first position of the European ranking, while Diaz becomes fourth.
