The Henley Royal Regatta is one of the most prestigious races worldwide and a fixed quote on the summer calendar. It has been held since 1839 in the River Thames, on a route of 2,112 meters (1 mile and 550 yards) and in one-to-one elimination. This year, it has also set the record of participation with a total of 629 crews from 27 countries around the world, including Spain, which is invited by the organization of the Regata.
The Spanish athletes, who are travelling to London today, will participate in the most prestigious test, theGreat Challenge Cup, in the mode of Eight with male timonel. The Spanish boat will be made up of Marco Sardelli, Sergio García, Oscar Alonso, Jaime Lara, David Prada, Jon Carazo, Jaime Canalejo, Javier García and the timonel Tomas Jurado, who come with the technician David Cifuentes.
