Seventh day

Spain, fifth in the ranking with 957 points, has achieved a good start in the World Team Racing, with two wins and a defeat that allow it to move forward. The first confrontation of the Spanish combined, with Alba Trigo, Manuel Álvarez-Dardet; Conrad Konitzer Samuel Benyto and Alberto Morales, was against Algeria, a duel that did not present many difficulties as it was. A very clear and smooth first triumph was achieved. In the second, a little more worked, the Finns also did not put Spain in serious trouble, so the Spanish optimist achieved a second triumph, very important to keep the children's morale high in view of the third confrontation of the day that that was going to be very complicated.

Italy was waiting for Spain in that third duel for ours. The Spanish team did not have a good way out and the Italians managed to place a boat ahead and control the match. After the first tranche, everything was very high for the Spaniards and although the advantage of the Italians was important for the first defeat. The Spanish combined, however, is moving forward and now has China as the next rival to get the ticket to octavos. The confrontation with the Chinese will take place tomorrow Sunday, July 3, the last world day in Portuguese waters of Vilamoura. In the event that Spain does not win, it has a refishing, although the rivals that can touch it very strong, including Australia, Malaysia or Norway.

Spain, after the Individual World Cup, is left in the fifth square with 957 points, behind Greece, fourth adding 929; Singapore, with 867.2; Germany with 638 and the United States, first classified, reaching 600 points. In the United Nations Cup, following the results of the World Optimist, Spain ends up as the seventh best country in the world in a ranking of 48 countries. Two magnificent results for Spain.

Sixth day. The Individual World Cup ends

Alba Trigo del RCN de Sanxenxo quinta del mundo entre las féminas (Pep Portas)

Alba Trigo of the world's fifth Sanxenxo RCN among the females (Pep Portas)

The World Optimt 2016 is closed and countries are already looking at the World Team Racing that starts tomorrow Saturday, July 2 and conclude on Sunday 3. Day, sixth, that has been marked by the wind that although it started intensively then it has gone away leaving the world meeting with 11 completed tests of the 12 planned. Today has not been the day of the Spaniards. Even and despite this, Alba Trigo has managed to defend the fifth place in females in the only test of the day. The galician ends at the 46th place of the general, after signing on the 11th trial a 31.

Nor has the canary Samuel Beneyto been lucky. Yesterday he was fired in a meritorious 26th square but today, with a partial little positive for his interests with a 36 makes him lower four positions in the general, saying goodbye to his first world participation among the top 30 in the world. Alberto Morales, ends up in position 44, while Manuel Álvarez- Dardet does it in 53. In the Silver Group, the Conrad Konitzer Ballet is fired demonstrating its huge category and that a few points of difference have deprived it of being with the best 64 in the world. Konitzer made a big one in today's race by signing a third, the best partial in his locker. This result, together with other good partials, makes the S'Arenal regatist conclude in the 14th square of the silver group general.

Fifth day (30 / 06 / 2016): Samuel Beneyto the best Spanish in the penultimate event of the World Cup of Optimist

The World Optimist closes the penultimate day, one remains to be completed on an individual level as the World Team Racing (by teams) will be held on Saturday and Sunday. One more day Spain has not been fine and only the canary Samuel Beneyto is saved, the only one who has not lost positions on the table, but also manages to raise six posts, placing himself in 24 of the provisional general, in the absence of that last day and two planned tests. Manuel Alvarez-Dardet, has also not shown his best version, but does not lose as much as Alba Trigo and Alberto Morales. The Andalusian, with a number of 39 and 37, passes from the 55 post yesterday to now the 54.

The wind finally came to Vilamoura. The penultimate day has developed a wind of 14 knots of the SW (Pep Portas)

Alba Trigo with two unpositive partials for her interests, in the first one did not exceed the 48th square while in the second, even worse falling to the 62 that was to leave her out of the provisional podium, now passing to the fifth square with a distance of 48 points on the third, the Greek Adriana Paraskevi Spanaki. Nor has Alberto Morales had the day, although looking at the positive side he only loses four positions. I was closing the day yesterday in '38 and today it's on' 42. On the first of the day Morales signed a 33 and on the second a 39, which makes it add up to 183 points.

Conrad Konitzer, for his part, stays at 26 so he drops three posts. In the first test of the day it ended in the 36 and in the second one it improved with a 25, though insufficient to maintain or raise some positions.

Fourth Day

It has started in Vilamoura the final series, and have not had a good start for the Spaniards, marking all of them a somewhat grey day as to their respective partials, but still showing a good image in general lines despite the results. Most positive, the alba trigo galician who, while at the end of the first test of the day was second in females, ends the day keeping the third position he achieved yesterday and with options to climb. In the first Trigo he was left with a 42 while in the second he marked a 31 that made him lower a position in females. The best Spanish on the Gold Group table is still Samuel Beneyto. Like Trigo, he has also not had a good start in today's day, signing a 54, then fixing something with a 28. Alberto Morales has followed the line of his companions, but the other way around. While the first one ended 28 later and the second one went to 54. The Andalusian Alvarez-Dardet, for its part, did not want to be less. First 53 and second 38.

Conrad Konitzer, in the Silver Group, also repeated the script that his four companions, although with a slight difference as their numbers in the two tests of the day were somewhat higher, but not much. At the shooting he closed his first test with a 31, while in the second he did not exceed post 24. With all this, the General of the Oro Group leaves the Spaniards something good, especially Samuel Beneyto, in position 30 with 89 points; Alba Trigo is in 33 adding 103 points; Alberto Morales in 38 and 110 points and Manuel Alvarez- Dardet in 55 counting 137. A provisional general who has undergone changes, the so far leader, the Swiss Max Wallemberg, who has not had his big day, gives in to the first place in favor of the Norwegian Mathias Berthet, with a difference of 10 points between them.

In females, the Danish Hellena Wolff is the first, followed by the Maltese Victoria Schultheis and the Spanish Alba Trigo. Very temporary positions, since at the close of the press release there are several requests for redress and pending protests that can alter these first three places. In the Silver Group, Conrad Konitzer is in position 23 with a total of 156 points. The provisional leader is the Italian Alessandro Caldari with 84 points.

Tomorrow, Thursday, June 30, the fifth day of the World Optimist that has been taking place since last Sunday 26 and that will end on Sunday with the World Team Racing (by teams), it is held on Saturday and Sunday.

Third Day

Alba Trigo is placed third in the general of women, standing in the Oro Group with Samuel Beneyto, Alberto Morales and Manuel Alvarez-Dardet, while Conrad Konitzer will be in the silver group
Third day, long and complicated, starting with the repetition of the fourth test in the second day for the green group, in which they were involved: Alba Trigo, Alberto Morales and Samuel Beneyto (Pep Portas)

The third day of the World Optimist in Vilamoura (Portugal) started with the resolution taken the previous day, at the last minute, in which the fourth test for the Green Group was cancelled, in which three Spaniards were involved: Alba Trigo, Samuel Beneyto and Alberto Morales, with very different partials in each of them and in the case of the regatists of Gran Canaria worse, after signing a 61. All because of a very important role and that the committee did not cancel the race. After the repair, the Protests Committee decided after 21: 00 local time to give no proof for that group, so the general to that group was left with three tests and there were many important changes in the provisional general, leaving the door open for the five Spaniards to enter the Oro Group as until that moment Beneyto was almost out.

The third day has also been marked by weather conditions. A slight rain, clouds and a small mist have delayed the entire program planned, with yesterday's green group first on stage. A test that started after 14: 00. Then the groups were regrouped according to the drawing of the day and thus started the third day.

As for the pending test for the green group, magnificent the Galician Alba Trigo signing a third place on the line of arrival. The other two involved: Beneyto and Morales also achieved good partials, especially the first with an 8 (61 signed yesterday in that test that should not have been completed), while Morales took the line of arrival at post 16.

The Spanish Team much better on the third day of the World Cup (Pep Portas)

In the fifth of the championship, which was the first of the day, Beneyto resigned a good partial in the Green group, seventh, which ensures almost the pass to the Gold Group, especially when the discard comes into play at the conclusion of this fifth test. In the blue group Morales concluded in the 8 square, while Alba Trigo did in the 21. Conrad Konitzer, with the yellow, was not fine ending up in the 31, partial that he could pass bill to get into the 64 best. The Andalusian Alvarez-Dardet did not go fine either, so he took the line of arrival at position 37.

The sixth and final test was started with the yellow ones, with Konitzer in the 27 and Alvarez-Dardet in the 29. In the blue, Alba Trigo again showed his best version by achieving a third meritorious square. Alberto Morales, for his part, lost some gas again, staying at position 30. The Canary Beneyto, in line with the yellow group, again signed a great race, fourth, thus closing a very good day for the regatist of the nautical Gran Canaria.

In this way, Alba Trigo is placed in the third temporary general position in women, placing himself in the Golden Group. The regatists of Sanxenxo conclude at position 30 of the absolute general. The great canary Samuel Beneyto, ends this first phase as best Spanish in the absolute table and does so at 23, Alberto Morales in 35 and Manuel Álvarez- Dardet in 47. Conrad Konitzer, for his part, has not accompanied him and has had no options to offer his best version. It ends this qualifying phase at the 90, so it will fight in the next three days in the Silver Group.

The second day

The World Cup of Optimist in Portuguese waters of Vilamoura closes the second day with two tests and with Spain maintaining its options of being with the maximum number of representatives. For the time being, four are classified for the Gold Group, although there is one day and two tests for that court, to which the discard is added after the fifth test. To all this, and at the close of the press release, there are protests in which the Spanish combined is involved, in addition to other protests that can alter the provisional general, modifying the positions of the Spanish, among others.

For the moment and with the current data, the Andalusian Manuel Álvarez-Dardet is the best located on the table, occupying the 16th square. The one in Puerto Sherry has not achieved the good partials of yesterday, but neither have those of today been bad, as they allow him to be up and ensure, in the beginning, his safe pass to gold. In the first test he signed an 11 and in the second a 13. Well, it was a measure of the Andalusian in which we carried the World Cup with 6-5-11-13.

The Alba Trigo galician is placed at position 45. The regatists of the Sanxenxo nautical had a good start, with a good way out and keeping in the head group, being able to finish the first test of the ninth day. In the second one I lack a 'small push' but the partial obtained (18) cannot be described as bad, as the total sum leaves it with margin for the third day qualifying to be among the 64 best.

Alberto Morales and Conrad Konitzer close the Spanish quartet with options to be among the best 60 in the world. The conejero Morales remains at position 61, with two unpositive partials in today's day. It started with a discreet 21, but closed the day with a partial not positive: 45. The shooting of the nautical S'Arenal showed a better image than his partner, signing a 27 and a 19. They're both tied to 75 points.

As far as Samuel Beneyto is concerned, the canary has not been his day, yet even though in the first test he achieved a work and merit 19th since he kept him at the top in the provisional general but... In the second and last of the day Beneyto has not been lucky and that 61 that he marks his locker can pass him a bill, and much. The regatist of Gran Canaria occupies position 94, for the time being. The Swiss Max Wallemberg is a 7-point interim leader, followed by the Malay Muhammad Fauzi, 8-point and the Argentine Juan Ignacio Quierel, 15.

No estamos teniendo un buen comienzo, pero cuando lleguen los descartes podemos mejorar sensiblemente (Pep Portas).

We are not having a good start, but when the discards come we can significantly improve (Pep Portas).

The first day

The World Cup of the Optimist class, which is disputed in Portuguese waters of Vilamoura, closes the first day and does so by completing the planned program of two tests, that is with a soft wind and that was not planned according to the meteorological parts, ranging between the 5-7 knots of intensity on the axis of the 130º -140º (SE-Southeast)."Good Spanish team debut, in general", as Magda Resano says, who has been satisfied with the children's work. A provisional general with many points, so the positions of the regatists are a little 'special'. In this line we have the canary Alberto Morales (RCN Arrecife) and the Andalusian Manuel Álvarez-Dardet (CM Puerto Sherry) who conclude with 9 points in their locker after signing the first of them 3-6, located in the top ten and the second 5-4, so it stays in the 12th square. These positions are marked by a four-fold tie to 9 points. Along with the Spaniards Morales and Alvarez-Dardet, the Russian Dimitry Lazdin (2-7) and the Peruvian Stefano Vale (3-6) are located, and thanks to their numbers are placed ahead of the two Spaniards.

Samuel Beneyto (RCN Gran Canaria), who has not been very fine in the exits but has been a good image in the first fences, going up positions and standing well in the head group, especially in the first test in which he achieved an 8. In the second, he kept the same line, but... he couldn't get past the 16th. Some numbers that leave you at position 36. Conrand Konitzer (CN S'Arenal) after signing 13 and 17 stays in position 51, also with many emates in its position.

Alba Trigo (RCN Sanxenxo) has also not offered its best version in the exits, but in speed, which has allowed it to correct that small error and to remount positions in each of the sections, in both tests. In the first he signed a 13th place, while in the second place he was not so lucky, leaving it at 69 (Pep Pôrtas).

The first three places in this world start that will end on July 4 are occupied by Jodie Lai of Singapore, followed by Swiss Max Wallemberg and German Roko Mohr, all with three points in their locker.
