We say goodbye with a good taste of the Vilamoura World Cup. The Spanish Optimist has closed its presence in the beautiful Portuguese town with two defeats and two victories. We succeeded with China and Greece, but first Germany defeated us and Switzerland left us within the Top Ten, but no choice for the first squares. The metals were distributed to the United States by gold, Argentina by silver and Italy by bronze.

Seventh day

Spain, fifth in the ranking with 957 points, has achieved a good start in the World Team Racing, with two wins and a defeat that allow it to move forward. The first confrontation of the Spanish combined, with Alba Trigo, Manuel Álvarez-Dardet; Conrad Konitzer Samuel Benyto and Alberto Morales, was against Algeria, a duel that did not present many difficulties as it was. A very clear and smooth first triumph was achieved. In the second, a little more worked, the Finns also did not put Spain in serious trouble, so the Spanish optimist achieved a second triumph, very important to keep the children's morale high in view of the third confrontation of the day that that was going to be very complicated.

Italy was waiting for Spain in that third duel for ours. The Spanish team did not have a good way out and the Italians managed to place a boat ahead and control the match. After the first tranche, everything was very high for the Spaniards and although the advantage of the Italians was important for the first defeat. The Spanish combined, however, is moving forward and now has China as the next rival to get the ticket to octavos. The confrontation with the Chinese will take place tomorrow Sunday, July 3, the last world day in Portuguese waters of Vilamoura. The World Optimt 2016 is closed and countries are already looking at the World Team Racing that starts tomorrow Saturday, July 2 and conclude on Sunday 3. Day, sixth, that has been marked by the wind that although it started intensively then it has gone away leaving the world meeting with 11 completed tests of the 12 planned. Today has not been the day of the Spaniards. Even and despite this, Alba Trigo has managed to defend the fifth place in females in the only test of the day. The galician ends at the 46th place of the general, after signing on the 11th trial a 31.

Nor has the canary Samuel Beneyto been lucky. Fifth day (30 / 06 / 2016): Samuel Beneyto the best Spanish in the penultimate event of the World Cup of Optimist

The World Optimist closes the penultimate day, one remains to be completed on an individual level as the World Team Racing (by teams) will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The third day of the World Optimist in Vilamoura (Portugal) started with the resolution taken the previous day, at the last minute, in which the fourth test for the Green Group was cancelled, in which three Spaniards were involved: Alba Trigo, Samuel Beneyto and Alberto Morales, with very different partials in each of them and in the case of the regatists of Gran Canaria worse, after signing a 61. All because of a very important role and that the committee did not cancel the race. After the repair, the Protests Committee decided after 21: 00 local time to give no proof for that group, so the general to that group was left with three tests and there were many important changes in the provisional general, leaving the door open for the five Spaniards to enter the Oro Group as until that moment Beneyto was almost out.

The third day has also been marked by weather conditions. A slight rain, clouds and a small mist have delayed the entire program planned, with yesterday's green group first on stage. A test that started after 14: 00. Then the groups were regrouped according to the drawing of the day and thus started the third day.

As for the pending test for the green group, magnificent the Galician Alba Trigo signing a third place on the line of arrival. The other two involved: Beneyto and Morales also achieved good partials, especially the first with an 8 (61 signed yesterday in that test that should not have been completed), while Morales took the line of arrival at post 16.

In the fifth of the championship, which was the first of the day, Beneyto resigned a good partial in the Green group, seventh, which ensures almost the pass to the Gold Group, especially when the discard comes into play at the conclusion of this fifth test. In this way, Alba Trigo is placed in the third temporary general position in women, placing himself in the Golden Group. The regatists of Sanxenxo conclude at position 30 of the absolute general. The great canary Samuel Beneyto, ends this first phase as best Spanish in the absolute table and does so at 23, Alberto Morales in 35 and Manuel Álvarez- Dardet in 47. Conrad Konitzer, for his part, has not accompanied him and has had no options to offer his best version. The second day

The regatists of the Sanxenxo nautical had a good start, with a good way out and keeping in the head group, being able to finish the first test of the ninth day. Alberto Morales and Conrad Konitzer close the Spanish quartet with options to be among the best 60 in the world. The first day
