Sofia enters its decisive phase with Spanish leadership in two classes

The 55 Trophy Princess Sofia Mallorca by Fergus Hotels faced their fourth day with the championship already in its second half and practically all the classes immersed in the final series, competing in the gold, silver and bronze fleets. The only exception was iQFOiL Men, which will start the elimination tomorrow. The leader has Spanish names in two classes: in 49erFX, Paula Barceló and María Cantero saved the day on a very irregular day for all crews, and in 470 Mixed Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona accumulated a solid advantage over their immediate pursuers (Photo Sailing Energy)
After today's three sleeves, the classification of 49erFX remains very compact, with the Spanish Paula Barceló and María Cantero in front and new teams as top rivals. Although they did not achieve their best partials (they signed a fifth and two sepmos), they now beat their immediate pursuers, the Canadians Georgia and Antonia Lewin- Lafrance. In the third square are the Danes Jena Mai Seaton and Christina Andersen.
In 470 Mixed, the provisional lead is also in the hands of the Spanish pre-Olympic sailing team. Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona, current world champions, today signed a fourth and a third and extended their advantage over the second classified, a square to which the British Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris, present continental gold medalists, joined.
The 101 ships of the 49er class completed three tests divided into gold, silver and bronze fleet. In the gold group, the provisional podium was distributed the partial victories. The Australians Harry Price and Max Paul attack the lead.
The largest class of this 55 Princess Sofia Trophy ILCA 7, played two of the three sleeves planned. One of lime and one of sand for the Australian Matt Wearn, which marked a twenty-second (which discards) and one, results that allow you to keep the first provisional square with a total of three points. The German Ole Schweckendiek rises to second position, while the British Elliot Hanson occupies third place.
The Belgian Emma Plasschaert is the new leader of class ILCA 6. The British Daisy Collinridge, bronze in the last edition of the Sofia, passes to the second square, yes, tied with the leader until today, the Irish Eve McMahon, third. The only Spanish in the gold group, the Grancanaria Isabel Hernández, goes up to the 38th square.

No change in the provisional gold and silver of the class Nacra 17. The mixed catamaran added three new tests to the bay of Palma, where Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson showed that they are still the strongest. The Swedes cannot be discounted: two points behind are held in stalemate by the Argentines Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, who at the last Olympic Games in Paris achieved silver (Photo Sailing Energy)
The iQFOiL Men fleet, with 119 windsurfers, completed four of the five planned sleeves, after which the provisional podium was slightly distanced from the rest of the fleet. The board is headed by American Noah Lyons, followed by British Duncan Monaghan and Danish Johan Soe.
The iQFOiL Women class also held four of the five races in program, and in this case the leaders clung to their positions. Polish Anastasiya Valkevich remains leader, with Israeli Tamar Steinberg and Italian Marta Maggetti in second and third position, in this order. The Andalusian Pilar Lamadrid, only Spanish representative in the gold group, march thirty-first.
In Formula Kite Men, the four tests were completed, on a day that, for the first time since the start of the competition, introduced changes to the provisional podium. The Olympic champion Valentin Bontus takes a step forward and rises to the third square after two days installed in the fourth position. In the head, for the third consecutive day, the Italian Riccardo Pianosi is maintained.
No change in the provisional podium of Formula Kite Women despite the dispute of four new sleeves. Jessie Kampman gives no choice to his rivals and strengthens his leadership with three new partial victories and a thirteenth, which he discards. The Dutch rule in the 31-Rider fleet is indisputable.
