The second day of the 55 Trophy Princess Sofia Mallorca by Fergus Hotels marked the entry into competition of the table classes, iQFOiL and Formula Kite, thus completing the Olympic program in Palma Bay, where for the first time in this edition they sailed the ten disciplines of Los Angeles 2028. Paula Barceló and María Cantero follow second in 49erFX, while Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona access the final series of 470 Mixed with a quarter of the qualifying series (Photo Sailing Energy)
After three new tests there are changes in the general classification of 49erFX, where the British Freya Black and Saskia Tidey, the winners of the last edition, are the new leaders of a fleet composed of 62 ships, although tied to points with the second ones: the Spanish Paula Barceló and María Cantero. The canarian-balear crew keeps the second square after a very consistent day on which they again shone with an eleventh followed by two seconds. Four points away are the German Marla Bergmann and Hanna Wille.
In 470 Mixed, the French Matisse Pacaud and Lucia De Gennes were unbeatable in the yellow group and, with two partial wins in the two contested sleeves, they ascend to the provisional leadership to the detriment of the Spanish Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona.
The 49th, with 101 ships spread over three fleets, premiere the Australians Harry Price and Max Paul as new leaders... come up American Nevin Snow and Ian MacDiarmid, and complete the provisional podium the Germans Moritz Dorau and Riko Rockenbauch. Catalan Pol and Álex Marsans and Galician Martin and Jaime Wizner improve...
In the Nacra class 17, the Argentinians Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco, silver in Paris, climbed to the second square, with the Swedish Ida Svensson and Marcus Dackhammar closing the positions of honor.
With 195 participants in a total of three fleets, the ILCA 7 class is still led by the Australian Matt Wearn, Olympic champion in Paris 2024. Dutch Duko Bos took second place, while British Michael Beckett climbed to third place. As the first Spanish, the Gonzalo Suárez Alicantino is placed.
The fleet of 143 vessels of ILCA 6 completed three sleeves that allow to seal the pass to the final series. The Irish Eve Mcmahon will do it in the position of honor, followed by the Bermudian Adriana Penruddocke and, in third place, by the British Matilda Nicholls.
The Olympic windsurfing up to seven windsurfers are separated by only three points on the top of the table, reflecting the huge equality of the fleet. British Duncan Monaghan, 21, is the first leader. Just one point, double-tie in the second square between American Noah Lyons and Danish Johan Soe. The Dutch Luuc Van is fourth. Nacho Baltasar is the best of the Spanish
The 70-board fleet of iQFOiL Women has as its first leader the Polish Anastasiya Valkevich, which overtakes the Israeli Tamar Steinberg and the Italian Marta Maggetti, both tied to points in the second and third drawer of the provisional podium. The Spanish Andrea Torres, Pilar Lamadrid and Barbara Winau in the platoon.
The premiere for the Formula Kite was intense, with four tests in both male and female category. The youth world champion Riccardo Pianosi, second in the last edition of the Sofia, is the first male leader thanks to an almost perfect performance: three first and one fourth, the latter, its discard.
31 are the riders that compete in a single female fleet of Formula Kite. The Dutch Jessie Kampman was almost perfect in the opening day, with three first and a quarter, which is her discard. The French Lysa Caval, second to four points, is not far behind, while the Chinese Chenxue Liu completes the first provisional podium of the class in the east of Sofia Mallorca.

Tomorrow, the third day of races will be held, with the ten classes of Olympic sailing in action in the waters of Palma Bay. The first tests will start at 11: 00 (Photo Sailing Energy)
