Bronze for the Gaditana Sol López in the world contest in Pensacola, United States... three were the local athletes of the Failing Base Cadiz team promoted by the Municipal Institute of Sports of the City of Cadiz and Spain SailGP Team, who started to compete in this race: Pablo Franco, Arturo Arauz and Sol López, accompanied by Pablo Guitián, coach and manager of Failing Base Cadiz.

The relatively short trajectory of Sol López Navarro has continued to accumulate national and international palmaris since it began in the flying classes of the avant-garde candle. In just three years, it has already conquered the most important podiums of the philist landscape, more specifically in the WASZP class, which has just held its 2026 World Championship, the WASZP Games, in Pensacola, United States.

After a total of 18 contested sleeves from March 22 to March 28 in the waters of the state of Florida and difficult conditions generally of little wind, the gaditana was played entirely in a last day of strong wind and many changes of pressure, being able to seal the third female and fourth in the absolute classification. It is only 7 points from the second classified, American Annie Sitzmann, and 32 from the champion Pearl Lattanzi, a local sportsman who also played at home.

For his part, Pablo Franco achieved a seventh absolute and third sub21, and Arturo Arauz defended a worthy 13 out of 73 competitors. In the rest of the Spanish representation is the double podium of Antonio Gasperini, of the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, which achieved the absolute silver and the third place of Pablo Astiazarán, of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, who defended throughout the championship the first positions representing Spain. The Jorge Astiazarán delegation was completed, which ended up in the absolute 18.

The best athletes of up to eleven nationalities have participated in this World Championship: Australia, the United States, Spain, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Canada and Norway.

The three Gaditan athletes took the trip back home yesterday Sunday to get to work on their return with a new training season to challenge the following competition challenges.
