The Ria de Vigo was the stage of the beginning of the national season of Kayak de Mar with the dispute of the 1st Cup of Spain in Vilaboa, a meeting that brought together more than 500 palists from 52 clubs and that opens a calendar marked by the World Championship to be held in La Vila Joiosa next October... the Ria de Vigo will again be the stage of the third date, by the Olívico and the Maritime.

In the team classification the Club Piragüismo Marlines de Lanzarote was made with the victory with 3,743 points, ahead of the Club Náutico de Cobres, which signed the second position with 2,287 points, and the Club Amigos del Piragüismo de Canarias, third with 2,200 points. Very close to the podium finished the Kayak Vigo, fourth with 1,994 points, completing
an outstanding performance of the Galician clubs on this first calendar date.

In the Iberdrola Trophy, the Kayak Vigo was at the top of the classification with 964 points, followed by the Club Piragüismo Marlines de Lanzarote with 884 points and the Club Nautico de Cobres, third with 716 points. The competition program was developed on Saturday and Sunday with tests for all categories and distances of 3,000, 6,000 and 15,000 meters, always with departure and arrival in the Port of Santa Cristina de Cobres.
