Three days of race, five sleeves, more than fifty ships at sea, a very high level of competition and great atmosphere on earth. A more than positive balance for this 18th edition of the SM La Reina Trophy - Regata Tribute a la Marina - XXIX Copa Admiral Marcial Sánchez - Barcáiztegui, which already has new champions. Grupo Clínico Doctor Senís has been the winner of the class ORC 1 and becomes the new absolute champion of the SM La Reina Trophy as the boat with the best overall results in the five tests held in the waters of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia.

The Varadero Valencia ORC 1, ORC 2 and ORC 3 classes have completed a barlovento-sotavento tour, while the Open class, which joined the competition yesterday, has made a coastal tour in the north direction.

The canary Adrián Hoteles, who went to Valencia no less than with the world champion in ORC 1 in 2015, the old Natalia, has managed to ascend to the fourth general square thanks to a third position in the manga today. The fifth position of the table has been for the Spanish Grespania, sixth for the Swiss Vischer and seventh for Maserati, who has achieved fourth a fourth place in the manga of the day.

The Majorcan Airlan Aermec has been the winner in the test of the day, a result that has not affected its fourth position in the classification, which it has maintained since yesterday's day.
Fyord Maverta has been third in today's test, which has not allowed him to maintain the status quo as the absolute winner of the test, but has remained second on the table, becoming Spanish champion of the Mediterranean area of ORC 2. For its part, Kundaka - Elite Sails, who made a tenth today, is third on the general table.

ORC2: Suspend to the end
The current advocate of the absolute title of the SM Trophy The Queen, Fyord Maverta, has taken advantage of the neglect of the Italian Low Noise 2 by Giuseppe Giuffré, to be the leader of the provisional classification. The men of Pedro Gil and José Luis Maldonado, have left first in the first manga of the day and third in the second, leading the table just one point ahead of the Italian boat, which has made a second and a sixth in today's day. For its part, the boat of the RCR Cartagena Kundaka - Elite Sails of Synergy Racing Group has shown that it comes strong to the test, and has achieved a third position and one first in the two sleeves of the day, setting itself in a more than threatening third position. In the ORC2 class everything can happen in the last competition day.
The fourth position of the general table is for the Mallorcan Airlan Aermec of Joan Cabrer, while the Brujo of Federico Linares is fifth.

José Ignacio Vicent, owner of the Phonemovil (ORC 1)
"Today's wind has been loose and quite a roll, it has been a difficult race. We are happy, we have practically just opened the ship and we still have old candles, we have to make improvements but we are quite satisfied with our result"José Ballester, pattern of the Fyord Maverta (ORC 2)
"Today's day has been quite complicated with very little wind. We have done the first test with 7-8 knots and in the second it has gone up something else to go back down later. It has cost us a lot to defend ourselves and despite being first in the first manga, we have been damaged in the last test after several turns that have made us stay behind. In the face of the end it is all open, and whoever wins tomorrow will be the winner of the Trophy."José Coello, owner of the Kundaka - Elite Sails (ORC2)
"There is much more competition than in the last edition. In ORC 2 the ships go much faster and that makes us have to be more attentive. We've been on two days and we've seen the fleet level rise and that's good for the candle. We are happy with the results in Valencia, for the moment, there is a day in which the three ships above are going to give it all so the last day is going to be very exciting."Gonzalo Calvo, shipowner of Saona (ORC3)
"The race has been very fun, with the wind with some role, but we have been able to navigate quite well. In part it's lucky, we've taken some good roll but most of all it's for the crew, which has made it phenomenal."
First day (02 / 07 / 2018): Favorites dominate the first day of the SM Trophy the Valencian Queen
The 18th SM Trophy The Queen today has lived an intense first day, in which the Varadero classes Valencia ORC 1, ORC 2 and ORC 3 have disputed a total of two tests in which the very high level of the participating fleet has become evident, which will not make it easy for the current advocates of the title. The show at sea has been magnificent, with a total of 40 boats in liza in the waters of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, which in the day of tomorrow will reach the time with the addition of the Open class to the race.
After the weather briefing and the pattern meeting, the day began with two presentations, that of the special sailing of the Valencian sports newspaper Supersport dedicated to the race, and that of the Maserati team, who went for the first time to the race with a crew including the Olympic medalist Domingo Manrique and the Valencian José Manuel Silvestre, Petrestre of the Marina Real Juan Carlos I.
The tests have started on time at 14 hours, with soft breeze that has started blowing from the north-east and has later rolled to the south-east increasing in intensity. A little more than two hours later the second manga began, with a wind of 115th between 8 and 9 knots of intensity, which has later rolled to the south, forcing the race committee to make a change of course in the second manga of the day.
ORC 1: Senis marks the rhythm
In the Varadero Valencia ORC 1 class, Brujo de Alberto de Castro has signed a magnificent first trial in which he has proclaimed himself the winner, followed by Grupo Clínica Doctor Senís, Luis Senís, and Phonemovil, José Ignacio Vicent, for whom this is his second race on board his new DK46. The ship of the Spanish Navy Aifos was made with the fourth square and Grespania, of Luis Hernández was left fifth.
But Dr. Senís, the current advocate of the title in this class, has managed to impose himself on the second test and to place himself at the head of the provisional classification, followed by a very consistent Phonemovil, who is being stalked in the second place with two third places in the two disputed tests. The Spanish Grespania, which was the fifth in the first test of the day, has been the second in the second manga, thus reaching the third place on the provisional podium.
Another of the novelties in this race, the canary Adrián Hotels of Daniel Adrián, who sails for the first time in the old Natalia, who remained in 2015 World Champion in ORC, is kept in line with a sixth place in the first manga and a fourth in the second. Brujo, of Alberto de Castro, who was the winner of the first manga of the day, had to settle for the fifth place of the general, with a tenth place in the second trial.
Low Noise II, unanswered in ORC 2
The Italian boat, with Duccio Colombi in the cane, has returned to Valencian waters to participate in the Trophy SM La Reina, in which two years ago the champion of Europe was proclaimed class B. The Italians have not fallen from the first position in the two tests contested for the class ORC 2, the largest of the test with 20 boats in liza. The current advocate of the absolute title of the SM Trophy La Reina, Fyord Maverta, of Pedro Gil and José Luis Maldonado, has achieved a third and a second place in the tests of the day, placing itself in the second provisional square, which will surely try to reassemble tomorrow. The Kundaka Bat - Elite Sails of Synergy Racing Group, has signed a very good performance with a second and a fourth place, which place it in third position of the table, just one point behind Fyord Maverta. To the back go the Majorcan Airlan Aermec of Joan Cabrer, with a fifth and a third in today's day and the alicantino Tanit III Medilevel of Mª José Vila Valero, with a fourth and a fifth place.
The winner of the day in ORC 3 was Saona de Gonzalo Calvo, with two first positions, followed by Iberolimp-Alhambra de José Vicente Alhambra with two seconds and with Puerto de Indias, Manuel Pretel and Maxi Cruz third with two third positions.
Tomorrow the tests will start at 12: 00, with the addition to the open class race.

"This is a Queen with a great level, the highest level of recent times. New units have come, very fast and modern ships, and the level resembles that of the King's Cup. We have our usual team, Axel Rodger to the cane, but we have strengthened this year with Rayco Tabares, who has just proclaimed himself today the world champion of J80 and Alfredo González. In addition today we have taken an eight-year-old crew member, Rafael de Tomás, from the sailing school of the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, who has sailed with all the crew, including my 73-year-old father."Duccio Colombi, pattern of Low Noise II
"After two years without sailing in Valencian waters, we like to be here again very much. Our ship is the smallest, and for us it is very difficult to leave with strong wind, but luckily Lorenzo has a lot of strength and knows how to control the wind changes very well, so we have won today. Our small size has been key."
