The 21 Andalusian Olympic Week has today completed its second day in the bay of Cadiz marked by the low intensity of the wind, conditions that have only allowed to add one more test in the Techno and ILCA 7 classes. With four tests in the accumulated, the discard comes into play, a factor that has proved decisive today and that some have more grateful than others. 2026-02-27: The Andalusian Olympic Week starts in the Gaditan Bay

More than 300 athletes, a hundred between coaches and satff, 22 countries and four major classes are cited in an edition marked by institutional recognition of the Andalusian candle. The race is the Spanish Cup for the iQFOil, Techno and ILCA 7 classes, the Spanish Wingfire Championship and the Andalusia Cup of ILCA 4 and ILCA 6.

The twenty-first edition of the Andalusian Olympic Week will be held between the next 26 February and 1 March in the waters of the bay of Cadiz, under the organization of the Andalusian Federation of Vela and the Specialized Centre of Sports Tecnification of Vela Bahia de Cadiz (CETDV), with the collaboration of the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación de Cadiz, the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María through the program El Puerto con la Vela, and Puerto Sherry.

The 2026 edition will bring together 271 regatists from 22 countries, accompanied by 44 coaches, which brings the direct participation of 315 athletes, to which family members and members of the various teams must be added. The competition opens to four major classes - iQFOil, ILCA, Wingfoil and Techno - and a total of 12 categories, with male and female representation in all of them. The program includes three days of competition (27 and 28 February and 1 March), with a maximum of nine tests for all classes, except iQFOil, which can fight up to 15 sleeves, and Wingfoil, with a maximum of 20 tests.

The Wingfire class is premiered in the program of a race that, edition after edition, adapts to the evolution and timing of the candle, consolidating Andalusian Olympic Week as a cutting-edge event. The Andalusian Olympic Week will also have a marked competitive and classifying character, including the Spanish Cup for iQFOil, Techno and ILCA 7; the Spanish Wingfoil Course Racing Championship; the Andalusian Cup for ILCA 4 and ILCA 6, and the Spanish Olympic Circuit for iQFOil and the female ILCA 6.
