The Optiorange 2026 already has new owners. The Finnish Sisu Selio (Brando Seglare) and the Spanish Mª Antonia Peñalver (CN Mar Minor Los Alcázares) have been proclaimed champions of the eighth edition of the children's race of the Optimist class in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia. They do so after four days with 9 tests completed: 5 in the qualifying round and 4 in final series.
Among the SUB13 the title is for the Spanish Nikole Victoria Douglass (CN Jávea) and for the American Mason Lim (Performance Sailing Institute) The fourth day has been marked by the low wind, allowing to complete a single test for the group gold and silver Nicolás Bastard is proclaimed champion of the Optimist Excellence Cup 2025-2026

The Finnish Suso Selio takes over in Valencian waters in the absence of a day... tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, fourth and last day of the Optiorange in which three other tests are planned.
The third day of the Optiorange has ended in the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia, first of the final round, with three completed tests and numerous changes in the general classification. Mara Peñalver remains the first female in the classification, while Alix Nguyen-Minh from Hong Kong, and Mason Lim from the United States continue to head the SUB13 fleet.

The wind of Levante, with an intensity of 8-9 knots in the Gulf of València, allowed to complete two tests on the first day of the Optiorange 2026, organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia. Despite the initial land delay, about 13: 00 hours the fleet went to the race area to dispute the first delivery of the four planned.
More than 400 regatists from 30 countries have taken part in this first day of the qualifying round, and if four or more tests are performed, the final round will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The departure was marked by several general incidents, which forced the committee to adjust the planned programme; yet two of the three scheduled tests were completed.

The Turkish Cengiz Eren Güvenç, in the red group, signed 1-2 partials, adding 3 points and leading the absolute general. The Puerto Rican Inés Méndez- Larminaux, second in the general and first female, was located behind it, with partial of 2-2 in the green group. The Spanish Jacobo Moreno, of the RC Candado and of the red group, concluded third and first Spanish, with partial of 4-3. Among the locals, Pablo López, of the RCN Valencia and participant in the green fleet, finished sixth in the absolute general, with a ninth place in the first test and a triumph in the second, remaining in the quinielas for the Sunday podium.
Tomorrow, Friday, February 27, the second day of the race will be held. The committee has decided to slightly delay the exit due to the wind forecast, which will enter around 12: 00 hours, and the fleet will head to the race area from 11: 00 hours. The Optiorange 2026 continues to be consolidated as one of the most important international events of the Optimist class, with regatists from all over the world competing for the first posts and final podium in Valencia.
