The Festival of the Catalan Sailing 2026 has gathered about half a thousand decattendees, consolidating itself as one of the main annual meeting points of the Catalan Sailing. Held in the Tinglados of the Port of Barcelona, the evening has served to recognize the sports achievements of the season and to value the commitment of the whole sector to the future of our sport. This year, as an outstanding development, the Best Navigator Award has been incorporated
Children, strengthening the Federation's commitment to the young regatists as the present and future of the Catalan sailing.
The Best Absolute Navigator awards have recognized the talent and trajectory of the highest level athletes. In the female category, the award was for Julia Gómez, from the El Balís Nautical Club, a regatist of the IQFoil class and the current Spanish subchampion. In the male category, the award has been for Florian Trittel, also from the Nautical Club El Balís, regatist of 49er and champion of the world, consolidating itself as a reference of the Catalan and international candle.
As for the new Best Children's Navigant awards, the female award has been for Alexia Sotomayor, from the Vilassar de Mar Nautical Club, Optimist regatist and third in the Spanish Cup. In the male category, the award was for Juan Lleonart, from the El Balís Nautical Club, Optimist regatist and world team champion. With this incorporation, the Federation reaffirms its commitment to the training and development of young athletes, which are fundamental pillars for ensuring the continuity of the sport excellence of the Catalan sailing.
The night has also been marked by special distinctions, including the Distinction from Honour to Joaquim Barenys, in recognition of its years of dedication to the sailing world and the Catalan Sailing Federation. In addition, other individual and collective awards have been given: Amadeu Oliva as Commodor of the Year, Teresa Rios as Judge of the Year, Jesus Tello as Secretary of the Year, Martí Gelabert as Cruise of the Year, the My Alex Foundation as Sailing Solidarity, Jaume Soler as Media, and Jacinto Rodriguez and Dani Anglada as Distinctions Special.
