The Nautical Club of Moraira is located in an idyllic enclave on the Elimine coast.

One of the most prestigious Spanish nautical clubs in the world of high-rise sports fishing, the Moraira Nautical Club, hosts the inaugural competition of the National Sports Fishing Circuit METROmar, with the rank of the Spanish Championship to be held from 23 to 26 June.

Close to 30 ships, with about 150 sports fishermen from almost the entire Spanish coast, will participate in Moraira for achieving the national scepter. The most favorite are the fleets of the clubs of the Valencia Community, perhaps the strongest of the entire peninsular coast. It is also worth noting the participation of sports fishermen, mainly from Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia and the Cantábrico.

The Corcuito Metromar has also the one of Moraira, two more dates: the Copa del Rey (29-31 July) in Santander and the Copa de Catalunya (9-11 September) in Cambrils-

Tarragona. The three dates will be two fishing days. In the case of the Alicantine appointment, the exits will be in both days at 6: 30 in the morning, and the arrival to port at 6: 00 in the afternoon is required. The closing ceremony will take place at the Moraira Club itself at the edge of 9: 00 Saturday night.

According to the legislation in force, in which the METROmar Circuit is demanding to the maximum, the unallowed species are: swordfish / emperor, white marlin and printing needle (for parts of less than 120 cm), stripe / / blanket, shark and bluefin tuna. The sedals will be at most 50 pounds and the aim of the athletes will be to capture turnips (with the exception of red), listed, bats, albacoras, nice, golden (lampuga), palometon and serviola, but always weighing more than three kilograms.

"Audaz," "Luna Key," "Calabuch" and "La Bona Mar" in Moraira

The legendary Catalan fisherman considered the number one of the National Team in the last two decades Pascual Durá of the Náutic Club of Calafat (Tarragona) will be in Moraira. It will not do so in the mythical Cape 45 "Audaz" with which it has on several occasions achieved spectacular catches, if not in the Rodman 12.50 "Denton." In the existence of Durá stand out nothing less than two world championships, several national titles, from the King's Cup, Rodman High Fishing Circuits and winner of the 2013 Metromar Circuit. His crew on this occasion: Cristobal Miravet, Alberto Gómez and Carlos Torres and Jordi Gómez.

Another of the favorites is the winner of the Metromar Circuit (Mediterranean) last year, the "Luna Clave" of the Valencian shipowner José Luis Martínez Galvany who competes for the Nautical Club of Jávea. Last year the struggle for the supremacy of the Metromar was between these two ships, and it is likely that both will fight for the first squares, along with two ships from the Nautical Club of Moraira: "Calabuch" armed by Jorge Canet and "La Bona Mar" by Victor Oller. Both Spanish champions: the first in 2015 and the second last year.

IEO biologists to monitor catches

The Oceanographic Center of Málaga, where the Tunidos Research Center is located under the Spanish Institute of Oceanography, moves to Moraira two of its most recognized biologists: José Carlos Baez and Lola Godoy. They will be the official supervisors of the philosophy of this Metromar Circuit: respect for the marine environment and sustainable fishing.

About the METROmar Circuit

They organize this second edition of the National Sports Fisheries Circuit METROmar, the Moraira Nautical Club, the Royal Santander Maritime Club and the Cambrils Náutic Club, all under the supervision of the Spanish Fisheries and Casting Federations (as well as the territories of Valencia, Cantabria and Catalonia), with the support of the National Association of Nautical Enterprises.

The National Sports Fishing Circuit METROmar has the sponsorship of Bodegas Martín Códax, Raymarine, Baitra, Navionics and Wor60, as well as other institutions and companies in each of the notable competitions, which have provided suggestive prizes and incentives to the different citations.

In the Alicantina citation, the Generalitat Valenciana, the Diputación de Alicante, Repsol, Pepe La Sal and Teulada Moraira collaborate. The closing of the METROmar Circuit will take place next October in the International Nautical Hall of Barcelona
